There have been exhibition races of "Girl's Keirin" since 2008 and they're bringing back a women's Keirin league this summer.

I guess they get coloured spoks and discs for the exhibition races because they're using UCI rules as it's supposed to be helping women's track cycling in Japan, partly in preparation for the Olympics. And because it looks awesome.

I've got the powerdrive (if anyone was on the bridges ride Saturday I was using it zip tied to my basket), it's plenty bright and long lasting enough for commuting, sturdily put together as far as I can tell, and you can recharge it by USB which is a big plus as far as I'm concerned. I think it's pretty good.

Anyone got a link for the official LFGSS approved route we'll be taking? I have to go to Brighton on Friday, figured I'd ride since I have all day to get there (and don't want to spend money on the train :c), and if I learn the same route we'll do I'll be able to help navigate if necessary.

My font now defaults to really fucking ugly and trying all the fonts listed doesn't bring back whatever it was before (and would probably mess up other things for me).

Here is a picture of a can that was bounced around in my basket all night. I like to think it says something about what the evening was like, and if it doesn't and I'm just being a dick, I still think it looks really cool and feels really pleasing to touch, as all the people I kept showing it to probably realise.

I like this thread because - similar to the Rat Bike thread - it makes me want to ride my bike, because the people who put together the bikes here think that bikes are awesome and riding them is fun and so do I. Porn just gives me bike angst and makes me want to be a dick to to other people.

@dan & dirkbang (thanks for commenting!) - I hadn't even thought about getting proper track ends put on before; there's enough space for a bit of adjustment (I went down one tooth on the cog still with the same chain Malaysian put on) and I'm quite fond of the weird baby dropouts, I like to think they add to the character/story of the frame.

It was RAL 4010, which apparently is called TELEMAGENTA. Which is a fully radical name.

^^I need to work up the nerve to look at my bank balance before I even think about it.

Pretty much agree about the bars but it's really fun with the risers. And if I feel like it it takes all of 30 seconds to switch considering I have a stem for each.
