Guardian Quick cryptic is just about manageable.
The explanations on https://www.fifteensquared.net/ are helpful too (someone mentioned this up thread)

Interesting points Oliver, and great tag. That whole area is probably best experienced from the network of elevated walkways than street level, but even then I imagine you struggle to see the hall. I also wasn't aware the hall and the road are not the lowest surface as there appears to be open air vehicle access one level below them too, probably closer to the original surface
I somehow doubt a low rise development would happen.
Great to see those vaults under Smithfield!

Old: Worshipful co of Iron(y)mongers, by Museum of London, London Wall/A1 roundabout.
New: the only thing that reveals this was once a building is this big stone and the surrounding trees
Clue: a saint who was known for turning his back on parties and loose living yet is considered a patron saint of brewers.

2023 was a tough year for harvest in Italy, according to Jonny Greenwood who's got a side hustle in olive oil production. Next harvest in October apparently.

His stuff makes that Tesco oil look quite good value.

The older 2 seater burley has a good configuration of belts that allows a single child to sit in the middle and still be belted, progress eh? That flex connector is pretty strong, but I suspect if the bike gets rested on the ground a lot that can twist the rubber a little too much. You can get a replacement easily enough and it's easy to replace

Thought I would try my hand at metal detecting this weekend at my folks garden up near Banbury. It was great fun. I used a basic Garrett Ace 250 but it did pretty well. Sadly I didn't find a pot of Roman gold, but was perfectly happy with this 1960 Vauxhall Cresta from Lesney toy factory in Hackney Wick. I also picked up a hefty over engineered brass pencil sharpener, a 1988 pound coin (probably dad's), and a mysterious tear drop shaped flattened ring with a June 1876 patent on it. All I need now is a yellow TR7 and I'll be a proper detectorist.

Scotland measures for COVID in waste water too, and it's interesting to compare the current (now subsiding?) wave with the Sept 23 and Dec/Jan waves.

The recent wave in the UK has also been kp311

You may be too late to order this, but had some Wherry at its brewery a couple of weeks ago and really loved it.

Still quicker than getting the coach. Just stepped in the door despite getting there at 6.
There was a big game of chicken in the narrow lane out of Dunwich between one of the coaches and a horse box coming the other way. It tried to squeeze past but ended up wedged against the bus. They ended up taking the horses out of the trailer and lifting the trailer up the bank. Luckily there were some energetic cyclists on their final approach to the beach, caught up in all the blockage, who managed shift the trailer enough to resolve it. I don't know how they found the energy. -

I've been given a cold smoker and itching to try, but I've been waiting until it's a bit colder outside. What's a good, fairly safe, meaty option or am I best to start with cheese/veg?
