No "ultimately" to it. Pop down to the induction on Saturday morning and take it from there. See the Track sub-forum for more details.
Thanks Cliveo - "ultimately" I need some wheels and bars first ;-), but will def head over the staurday after I get them! After 20 years of cycling (6 in BMX/XC/downhill racing) I'd be interested to see if I have the quads 'n calves for it to be fun!

Afternoon, I've been lurking for a few weeks and am now understanding (semi-comfortable) : slack chains, dorra, aerospok, rpm, hipster, etc et al. Been schlepping around London for a couple of years on a SS tiny Zaskar (formerly my jump MTB) - just picked up a Kona Rat track frame (<£100), which despite being a "bandwagon" (no-pun) jumper company, has great geometry. Cannot find many, if any people* riding them (now worried there is a reason?) - doing a slow build up to a semi modern track bike, the gunmetal 953 Bishop Bikes pushed my buttons! Ultimately want to get into track racing - starting at HH.
So a rather rambley "hello"
For comedy / fresh anti-prawn material, this is what I currently ride / use to travel between stand up scraps with a lot of London motorists (had a good one on Essex Road, Angel few weeks back).

Fun forum!
Cheers

I've got a front Veulta semi deep V 24" (21mm black) on silver unbranded QR hub (disk) and a Hope disk QR hub on Sunn/Ringle Ditchwitch 24"(28mm black). Not road wheels exactly, but light and useable - few years old, but straight and smooth.
Pic fitted -

Can take more pics if you are interested?

Just got back from RP (my first visit) - what an awesome place! As a Newcastle (NE) refugee, I didn't know it existed. Only found this thread when I got back.
I didn't do any full laps (but will next time) - had a great day, 25miles on SS MTB, 2.1" knobbly tyres, 69" gear (34x12 on 24"wheel) went CW from Roehampton Gate, but got tempted by some off-road action after passing 3 geared bikes on the sharp climb after R.Hood Gate. 3 x offroad 5 mile loops and then the rest of the road lap. Got lucky with an indicated 32mph top speed on the way out approaching the Police. Only saw 2 fixed pedallers.
Great place, next time I'll time a 3 lap run.
