Yo,
a couple of months ago the tapering of my left crank arm turned into a circle and tore from the bottom bracket on the way back home. Luckily I was just round the corner whilst it was happening, it was raining, things look sad. My poor Koga had been mutilated. Took him to my local bike place, said that they could fasten the arm on for one last go, but that it would be wise to start looking for a new crank and bb, there was a problem making it stiff as well. I knew when he said this that the arm would fall off at the worst moment, and it did last night (after a month of hard riding) on the way to a birthday house party that I sadly couldn't get to because of it,
so,
I've got to say good bye to this nicely made 'vintage' shimano 600 chainset, does anyone have a similar set going? It's 170mm in length with square tapering, all other bolts would be appreciated. I'm quite a bike n00b so help goes a long way.
Thanks.

Yo Peter,
excuse the naivety, is that a Koga Miyata produced saddle or an Ariake Jaguar II NJS which has just been stamped with the Koga Miyata brand? As the description says "Koga Miyata stamped in sides, some light sanding and a touch of leather colouring can make that disappear." it makes me think that it's almost not meant to be there at all, if you know what I mean?
Looking for education here if there's something that I'm not getting.

Final update. Tried to contact Pink Panther and Skankymanky about their dibs and what my situation was with selling the Centurion and picking up a Koga the following day, basically that the sale had to be Today or Wednesday before I collected the other one. I needed the cash to be certain to book a train to Norwich to pick up the Koga, and couldn't do any confirmation before I had the certainty of the Centurion deal.
Waited on a few guys (Skankymanky sorry I only gave you 24 hours to respond) and was saved a lot of stress from Mountaingoatmatt who was a super gem and picked it up without hassle. If ever you're going to make a deal with this him be assured that he's a very cool and relaxed dude.
Thanks to RVL (need to give you your chainwheel!) and MGM, the previous and later generations of owners to the sexy ride of the Centurion, a real pleasure meeting and dealing with you both
SOLD.

Okay, I'm saddened to have to say this as I dislike having to spread the bad word, but I had a deal with urbanmining and he ACCEPTED my offer of £260, we've exchanged all the details about bank accounts over the last couple of days and had established a nice rapport. I've just now received an email saying that he's giving it to a guy from Leeds (congratulations, my upset is not with you) who has come in at the asking price. Now Urbanmining had the distaste to add that 'that was your risk' to his email, when I believe that when a deal is accepted there is no risk and I would have been happy to pay that little bit more had I even been considered. I don't know if it's typical seller etiquette on this forum to go back on one's word, to break a deal and not even be told that if someone offers a little more then they'll go with it. I may be horribly old fashioned but in the past I've stayed true to my accepting the deal I've made at the time and not been tempted by any thing else, doing so breaks the bonds of trust between fellow man.
All I'm saying is, if ever you're going to make a deal with this person, he doesn't mean it, and he's not going to give you a chance if someone offers you more because he doesn't have the common decency to consider anyone else other than his business self.
I do not wish for this to be a cry in the dark but merely a matter of warning for anyone else dealing with him or other potential people on this forum,to not get carried away by people's word and to not set things into action surrounding deals that are a hair's breadth from closing.

Just to show good faith to everyone here, not as a sign of paranoia, the bicycle can go for £220 which is what I initially bought it for, so that there is no possible indication of any 'gain' here for me and so that the loss in money and my initial mistake of seeing that it was a fixed gear bicycle, doesn't mean that anyone else has to suffer.

Hi Winch,
"Don't know why you bought this" don't be like that dude after having my bike stolen I was desperate for another one quickly. Then the bike was sold to me with a totally defect crank (Rik had destroyed the threading whilst adding new pedals) which I've replaced, and I overlooked the matter that it was a fixed gear bicycle as it's usually mentioned in the description, yes, I didn't notice that it did not have gears. I spent £75 getting a new crank, having it fit on and then replaced both inner tubes as both had three punctures in (my total cost for the bicycle now hitting £300). Rik then kindly contributed £50 for the repair which he had not yet done before I offered the bicycle to you. After now feeling okay about fixed gear I want to move to Bristol which is the hilliest city in Europe and want to sell this bicycle to put money towards a new one.
There's nothing to be suspicious about, I offered it to you after fixing it as a loss for myself and have now offered it to Lazysuperhero for £245, I'm a good person and didn't feel to make this whole history public because there is now nothing wrong with the Centurion, I'm even throwing in pedals (of course not the ones that came with it). Notice how I didn't say anything on here at the time, or cry in this thread about Rik's mistake and instead just solved the issue without any negativity having to be put in the open.
I would also like to add that the bicycle rides really beautifully, the frame is incredibly light and is a joy. As a whole there's just been a bit of stress about getting her to this point and I don't wish to add gears to her as I feel it's best to keep her as she is. I did say from the onset I wasn't happy about adjusting to the fixie lifestyle, and that is still the reason for why I'm selling it, please don't judge me for that reason. I just hope that no one is put off by my initial weird experience.
