I wouldn't use a mallet to remove the forks, you might damage something.

First remove the stem,
Then, Undo the lock nut with a spanner.
Gently remove the washer, being careful not to damage the thread on the forks. (A flat head screwdriver helps to tease it up, make sure the slot is lined up correctly.)
Next unscrew the threaded race.
The forks will now come apart from the frame.If you want to completely remove the headset for painting then you will need a tool and a hammer to bash out the races.
You will also need a headset press to push them back in again afterwards.

the forks are for sale if you buy the frame! sorry, i didn't make that clear.
walkmanman pm'd yesterday to show interest in the forks. not sure how much i would sell them for without the frame..
your mum has 2nd dib i guess.

Bottom bracket cup is stuck at the moment, lunar cycles in kentish town will remove it for about a tenner. (The did the holdsworth one for me, and tidied up the threads as well...)

700c wheels.Surface rust - frame has already been resprayed and could do with a fresh lick of paint.

Bottom bracket cup is still there in the photo but has been removed.

Frame and forks in good conditon. Been stripped right back so nothing seized. No dents or problems.

New cables and brake pads.
Rear hub spacing is 130 while the frame is 126 i think. 700 wheels.
I can swap the crankset and bottom bracket for a smaller one if needed..
Size is 20" - i reckon 5ft3 up to 5ft9?
I had someone try it out yesterday who was 5 ft 1, she rode it around fine but we decided it was a tad small.
