The William Lennon ones come up very wide. Size-wise, length is exactly as it would be if you were buying a normal leather shoe. They are quite shallow at the back, so they don't stay on very well if you have narrow feet. I tried going down a half size but the shoe was then too tight on the length. Quality is ok, but nothing special. Shame, because I really wanted them to be 'the ones' but I hardly ever wear them.
Black leather Converse look like old cycling shoes from a distance if you have narrow feet. I've always liked how the rubber toecap grips the toeclips compared to full leather cycling shoes.

Convenient that this thread has popped back to the top as I'm looking for a new bag! Any recommendations for a warm synthetic bag, comfortable (snug) sleeping around 5 degrees? Size and weight not too important as its for o/t camping.
Has to be synthetic so I can chuck it through the wash and generally not worry about looking after it, as it only comes out 2-3 times a year. Current one is an old Millets mummy bag which must be over 10 years old but has never really been warm enough despite being a bit sweaty as well.

Anyone been to WGT in Staines? Billed up as fine Japanese dining. Has struck me as being a slightly strange place to open an indie veggie/vegan restaurant (this end of Surrey is all about its cars, meat and chain restaurants) but they're quite nice in there and the food is good.
@edscoble how is the veg growing? Sounds like you had black fly or aphids if there are ants up there with them. You can scrape them off and give the plants a spray with dilute washing up liquid to discourage them coming back.

Out on the road, I find Shimano SPD-SL slightly easier to locate and clip into than Look Keo. Something else to think about is resin road cleats wear out incredibly quickly if you have to unclip and put your foot down a lot (eg stop-start commuting). In that case, metal SPD cleats can work out a lot cheaper in the long run, especially if you get shoes with concealed cleats. A lot of road shoes also now have holes for both road cleats and SPDs.

I'll keep an eye out for that. Got Bladerunner cued up for watching on my commute.
