Those are Nuovo Record cranks. As Danstuff mentions, you will need to get the date to determine the BB spindle length.

Up to and including 1977, the spindle length was 112.5mm for a 68mm BSC English bottom bracket shell. After 77 it was a 114.5mm spindle length. Both are widely available s/hand.

Anybody know if the free hubs on the zondas could be converted to 10 speed shimano?

If they have the newer large diameter axle, then yes. I've just done it with Shamals, but the other way around, ie, 9/10 speed Shimano free hub carrier replaced with Campagnolo. Campag online spares catalog will let you identify exactly which axle you have.

They also made 015 steel tubes that were even lighter but weren't recommended for general use. I'm not sure how the weight of 017 compares to modern steel alloys from Reynolds, Columbus or Dedacciai.

The Rapha rainjacket that I bought 2 weeks ago for £84 is now selling for £42, which is a ridiculously low price for such a well made item. They had them in both purple and black this morning, in M,L and XL.

No its not. But its got to be ultra easy to shift, so that an inexperienced cyclist can use it, so indexed shifting is a must.

Thanks for the feedback. The bike is for my girlfriend, and she wouldnt get on with downtube shifters. I want a nice easy set up with flat bars and simple to use shifters.

Standard caliper brakes but I still have the challenge of shifter/mech compatibility.

I have a Dura Ace 7410 groupset (8 speed) that I want to use on a flat bar bike that I'm building. The Shimano levers that seem to do the job are ST-R 221 (combined brake and gear levers). However, I can't find any info on compatibility with 7410 DA.

Does anyone know if these will work?
