A bit of a thread highjack but seeing as this is another Fuji Track build i though it appropriate. Let me know if it's not the done thing and i'll delete.
my first build.
I bought an old Fuji Track frame (06 i believe). The previous owner had cut the seatpost down to about 2 inches and the drop bars had been cut and turned to make some fairly sharp pointy bull horns. They had aslo rattle canned the entire bike but hadn't managed to remove the stem or the cranks or the chainset, or the chain. In fact they had managed to ruin a perfectly good bike.So having salvaged the frame and forks I took them down to Armourtex for a nice coat of RAL 3003.
I wanted to build a rather classic looking track bike but didn't have a massive budget. I ended up buying a set of 165mm Andel cranks and a Stronglight headset from Hilary to give it a slightly older look. My boss gave me his Brookes saddle that he didn't like which added to the overall vintage feel. The pedals are some Kyokuto Pro Ace track pedals from here but everything else is no name generic parts.i think the bars are the first thing i'll change as they feel a touch wide and square. I've added a front brake but i would like to be able to take this down to HH at some point. The wheels are apparently made of cheese so I'll ride them into the ground and the tyres will be changed fairly sharpish as they feel very plasticy.
So there you go. It won't be bothering the porn thread anytime soon and it's a completely different look to roboto's HH/stealth bike from pretty much the same frame.

i put my front wheel in wrong once. it ended up like that. rode it for a couple of weeks.

still think the OP should give a bit more info to make for a more interesting thread. what was the reasoning behind the choice of this that and the other? any unexpected problems or what not? is it your first build?
let me in on the journey. you built a FG bike and you have no story to share?

you often see bikes with chromed chainstays. sometimes the seat stays also. is this purely aesthetic or is there a good reason? is it a chainstay protecter before those sticky plastic things came to the fore?

perhaps not. look for artesian wanderers or some such. haven't done them yet so might be pony.
