Hey guys,
I'm a Canadian dude and I'm gonna be in southampton from the 29th to the 7th. I'm bringing my bike with me as I'm living in china now and those countryside roads around town are too nice to pass up. I'm coming to England to visit an elderly relative who's holed up in a nursing home but I was hoping to find something fun to do on nye. This booze cruise you guys have planned sounds right up my alley. If you guys dont mind a foreign, complete stranger joining in that is. ;)
Awesome! Yay, come along. This is is going to be fuuuuun.

The rest of the drinks can go get fucked. Souths doing a party on a Thursday, Norths now doing a party on a Thursday?
Piss off and stick to your self-selected-and-less-awesome-than-Thursday days for your parties.
Thursdays are (TM) by West Beers
Yeah, I thought I'd get this kind of reaction.
...although not quite that strong. Yeeeesh.
Looks like the drinks karma gods are working their stuff on Norths Crimbo Thursday Party anyhow. What with the pub having been shut due to fatal stabbings and all.

Ladies and Gents
The Stapleton is busy tonight. They have 2 things on tonight (including a football thing)
I recommend the **Southampton Arvs **(as you all know it and it isn't a Tuesday)
I also recommend meeting there from 1730/1800 to secure locations. (They don't take
bookings)Have fun people, your social secretary
We'd all be happlily looking forward to a cosy, local, well priced and tasty drink or 10 in the Landseer if some poor bloke hadn't been stabbed last night.
That said - if the pub does actually open tonight:
a) lightning is unlikely to strike twice and
b) it certainly won't be too crowdedI am keeping the faith that the Landseer will have re-opened. Who's going to call?
Failing that, I back our social secretary. Mainly cos I don't want to have to cycle to the end of the world (i.e. too far East) tonight to get a drink.

Plan B pubs - If the Landseer is still in CSI mode?
Stapleton Tavern - (Stroud Green road - http://www.stapletontavern.com/ - Lots of space - nice beer)
Charlotte Despard (just before Suicide Bridge - good ale - comfy - uncharted)
any views?
I vote either of these two. But maybe the Landseer will be open...

Yep I had my Lycra on, but I've been riding it without plenty and it's great. Both the other saddles I've tried have made me uncomfortable to the point of tantrum before! This one seems to lift you right up (without changing your position) so that your weight is just on on your bum bones so feels like just sitting normally on a chair.
