SOLD Gilles Berthoud Fenders 700x40 - £20.

Unused, still in protective plastic with all bolts. plastic has a few nicks it so there may be some very minor scratches. These are collection only.

SOLD (beater) Quando/unbranded rim 700c fixed/free - £20

Rear wheel is true, has unbranded freewheel 16t and Miche 14t on carrier (lockring needs tightening!) Conti high pressure rim tape.

Front wheel went sideways into a high kerb and has some scrapes to brake track, stiff axle and 2mm buckle. I reckon it is fixable but listing as spare/repair.

SOLD Aksium elite wheelset (destickered) - £30

Both have a 1mm(ish) wobble in them, recommend you true them. braking surfaces are not too worn. Choice of Campag or Shimano 11 speed freehub. Tyres not included.

Chorus 11 (1st gen?) stuff, all is fully functional with a few scuffs. I bought some rollers so splitting my nice bike to build winter-y things until the sun comes out again. Has been used in dry weather only, apart from a couple of times getting caught in the rain.

Abandoned project - I found something else to p*ss around with.

Marin 1990 pine mountain frame - had a load of braze on's added (hydo cable routing, top route cables, disc brake, bottle cage under down tube) and seat tube clamp replaced.

60cm TT 55 C-T. 1+1/8 HT.
135 OLN.
29.5 seatpost so will need a shim.
Mount included - I tested with XTR M985 Caliper so that definitely fits - Assume most post mount Shimano calipers will , welcome to bring a caliper to check.

Cotic fork with mid blade mounts added, and mounts at bottom inside the fork leg - idea was if this clears disc stuff lop off the eyelets.

9mm thru axle, (you can spring it open to use regular QR wheel)
400mm A-C (OG fork was 390mm).
250mm steerer (uncut)
9mm TA included.

Both frame and fork definitely clear 650x42 with guards, you could possibly push this to 650x47

The brazing is solid but not pretty and and a little 'off centre' on a couple of bits, could to with being tidied up if you can be bothered (I wasn't going to) and the frame still needs the old brake mounts/hanger grinding off.

£120 collected N4. Can post at cost but will take me a few days to sort a box.

How do tubes join to the flat plate? slot in the tube/capped like a dropout? or you have something more fancy in mind?

Big Agnes Clearview currently on eBay - light + packs really small. Would buy to have as a light option if I wasn't so tall.

Thank you both for your detailed replies. I’ll do some thinking (as to if I want all the paint or fall off or not!)

Any reason why this wouldn't work? (I think this is how my early 90's Olmo is painted)

1. Media blast or brush finish frame
   
2. Full chrome (do not polish so it retains texture from step 1.)
   
3. Clear coat with translucent colour
   

Needed to SS a beater mtb frame for commute duties:

Ideally all silver and at least 19mm internal.

Must be cassette fitting - number of speeds doesn’t matter.
