Fella on a geared red specialized with red helmet, red beard and a non-red grobag trackstanding like a boss and then speeding off along Bishopsgate, London Bridge then E&C and finally Kennington. Guess you're on here cos I've seen you waving to other riders before, but I'm a n00b and haven't been to beers to meet many people yet. G'morning

Nice ride in to work with Nelaii this morning. Sorry for the initial speed away (not sure on the forum etiquette) plus if I see you on my commute it usually means I'm running late. Not usually a problem, but I've got a problematic newletter that needs designing and it's been bugging me all night.
Might swing by the Roebuck later to see what the big deal is!

why don't you contact varno who builds wheels. Good value and excellent quality, I'm gonna get some when my current wheels finally give up on me

Think he charges £80 plus £10 postage on a pegasus or dp18 rim with miche hub (most expensive choice). Your choice of build and colours and handbuilt.

Don't suppose anyone on here has had a red single braked single speed stolen recently? While waiting for a bus last night from Kingsland overground down to Old Street two guys caught my eye. The first one was riding a battered MTB while the guy following him was riding said SS which was about 2 sizes two small, plus he was texting with his hand that should've been on his only brake lever and wobbling all over the place.

No apologies needed Nelaii! I was running a bit late for work this morning so I had the race face on. I even passed and stayed ahead of my normal commute pace setter along Brixton road (the guy is a machine and usually I can't keep up with him!)
Shinigami, why u so injured?
Not seen you for a while. I'm thinking of introducing myself properly at SEs next week. You gonna be there? -
I got them from a site called saddler.co.uk they do them in Chrome or Brass. They only come in one size though so for the two holes where I needed a shorter rivet I bodged them in a bit to fix them in place. Looks good, just a little messy looking on the inside though. I'm gonna attempt to show some finished pics now...
...here goes...

I recoloured the Rolls logo using a Posca pen. The saddle is lovely and comfy, but maybe the wrong shape for my behind so hopefully the aero will suit me better. Just gotta find some suitable padding!

Thanks for the tips Paul. I've actually done the restoration now. I managed to keep the badges on the sides intact when I removed them and the rear badges were scratched and the gold colouring all ready faded away so I sanded them down and polished them up and they now look chrome. I got hold of some roundhead rivets from a leather shop and put the rear plates back in.
All in all it's a satisfying result for my first time. Just bought a bargain kashimax aero and will be sorting that out next. Need to find some foam to put some padding back on it though. Anyone know what sort of foam is best for saddles and where I can get hold of some?

I want to make a change from my road pedals with cages to something a bit more secure (but I don't want to go clipless). I'd like to try out flat pedals with big straps before deciding to invest further down this avenue.
Looking for some decent black bmx style pedals that will take straps like holdfast or BLB lockdown. Also not looking to spend too much at the moment as I'm saving for new wheels. Something like DMR V8s or similar.
Also, if anyone has a decent pair of straps (minimal wear) that they don't use I'm open to offers on these too.
Waiting for some good offers!
