Another day. Another article about how much of a joke my club has become off the field.
After reading it I still don’t have any sympathy towards Keogh. His view is obviously going to be favourable to him, but he still made all the decisions he did and found himself in the situation he did.
He was a great servant to the club, but ruined it so quickly.
The sooner DCFC can get a new owner and we can reset, the better. I’m sick of us being in the papers everyday for another crisis or off-field revelation.
-
If you haven’t listened to his press conference today then it’s well worth a listen.
He’s been treated like shit by the owner, the fans weren’t behind him at the end of last season, he’s been stitched up in the tabloid rags and he still wants to fight for the survival of this club.
He has been paying for training stuff and away day transport and hotels for the team since the summer out of his own pocket.
-
We could still get another -9 points on top of today’s -12. Mel Morris doesn’t seem to want to take any of the blame for the situation and is finding excuses for being the worst owner in our history. Yes, worse than Maxwell…
I really hope that a couple of rumours about new potential owners ready to swoop in are true. If we’re still in admin by January then we’re completely fucked and doubt we’ll survive at all.
The Wycombe owner is looking to start a court case about how they got relegated due to ongoing court cases delaying any points deductions. But rich coming from a team that got promoted during a cancelled season when they were sitting in 8th place at the time the season stopped.
Now the Boro owner is also looking to sue us for something. EFL owners are the worst, bloodthirsty vampires who will do whatever dirty deeds it takes to get the prem cash money.
-
I mentioned court cases. One of those is linked to that incident and we’re still paying off Keogh’s contract after he got in a drunken drivers car and also failed to wear a seatbelt resulting in a season ending injury.
Stuff you just couldn’t make up, but just a regular episode of being a Derby fan.

Long story really but a brief synopsis.
Local multi-millionaire buys a club on the brink of promotion.
Failed play offs. Money thrown at players to reach promised land.
Still fail at promotion in following seasons and debts run up to FFP limits.
Club do some grey area accounting and think all is good. EFL decide to investigate due to other clubs complaining of our accounting methods and sale of stadium, none of which are against any actual rules written at the time.
Lots of court cases and independent disciplinary commissions over the course of 18 months. All the while the club is put under several soft transfer embargoes so maintaining a competitive squad is difficult.
Sack some managers and some players. Lose more money. Court cases mount up with legal fees.
COVID.
Failed attempts to sell the club to whoever is interested in buying it. Fake sheikhs, Spanish wannabe gangster, others…
Still haemorrhaging money left, right and centre. Found not guilty of financial irregularities but EFL keep appealing until they get their verdict. Club fails to pay some debts and the EFL therefore don’t pay us the £8m we were looking to get from the premier league hand out.
This is all without discussing how bad the team has got from where we were just a few seasons ago.
Latest buyers pulled out last week with news leaked from EFL that they are pursuing a points deduction for the financial irregularities that we were cleared of by an independent panel. Seems like a war between the current owner and the EFL and my team and the small businesses who depend on the club are the ones that will pay the ultimate price.
Fuck football.
-
Can you let us know how to get out of this mess and turn it around to become prem champions in no time at all?
Nah, fuck it. I can’t really make light of this situation. My team that I’ve followed through very few highs and many lows has been dragged even lower by the incumbent owner and his poor decision making as a football club owner. There’s a real possibility that this isn’t even the lowest we can fall and it makes me feel a bit sick thinking about it.

Knowing us, we'll gift Forest their first points of the season in comical fashion, but hopefully we won't.
I've been impressed with Rooney's signings that he's been able to make even though we're under an embargo that limits us to £4.5k a week free agents and a max squad size of 23 players (including youth players that have made at least a sub appearance in a professional game...).
Jagielka has been outstanding so far, even though he's just turned 39! Ravel Morrison can hopefully keep his shit together long enough to be a key player all season for us.

That’s the sort of things people said about Kazim last season, but he’s proved to be an excellent addition and someone that can teach a few life lessons to the youngsters so they don’t stray down the wrong path.
I hope Ravel does well for us, because he’s certainly the best we can hope for with our current restrictions in place.

There was a curse on the baseball ground because we kicked out a load of gypsies to start playing football there.
I think the current excuse is that we just aren’t that good/don’t deserve any better.
