Old trafford is a funny old place - 74,000 United fans and not one of them singing. Good banter amongst the 800 or so Stoke fans. Utd looked good on the pitch, even with all the changes. Admitted Stoke gave them plenty of opportunity to shine. Park was fantastic and, much as it pains me to say it, Scholes was impressive. Took an hour to walk back to the city centre, having given up on the queues for public transport. Sunderland game is looking like a must win for Stoke.

On the train up to Manchester to see if Stoke can get something from Utd. First visit to OT. Suspect that it is going to be a cold, miserable night.

You would have thought so, but there are some 100km/h speeds splashed around. At one point, the leader of the base miles challenge had clocked up a road trip around the southern US states!

There are certainly some spurious times/speeds/records on Strava....

Following the recommendation on here I've been using the Techno Line charger for the last few weeks - well worth the investment. No heating of the batteries and lots of charging / refresh / decharging options. Recommended.

Have inherited an Innova Dream machine (now renamed Ascaso Dream) which is about 5 years old and not working. It needs (I think) a new heating element, but I'm struggling to find one on the web. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Intend to attempt the repair myself, unless someone tells me that it is a job for a professional....

Hi walm - long time no spot. Wise to take primary all the way through Sheen at the moment, what with the multiple roadworks and all.

^^ this is pretty much why I choose to do laps of the park after dark. Not so that I can ride in the buff, but because of the lack of other road users. Last night there were maybe 3 other bikes that I saw, a couple of peds on the road, foxes, rabbits, deer and one owl. Lovely solitude.

We've stayed near Triora a couple of times (30km north of San Remo, all uphill). Great riding, on decent roads. Eating options can be a bit thin on the ground. Get's pretty hot in Summer. Lovely part of the world.

A ninja ped in Richmond Park at 9pm yesterday, walking on the road between Roehampton and Robin Hood gate. Spotted just in time to avoid collision - not sure who was most shocked at the near miss.

Yes - very excited about the whole thing! Staying just off Taksim Sq, which is a short walk from the ground juding by the map. First time following Stoke in Europe - also hoping for some accessible games during the group stages (avoiding Napoli).

Difference for us is the trees that block the sun from it's short chance to do any drying, you don't have that problem at Bournemouth.

I've got the narrow SKSs Chromeplastics with 28c Gatorskins. There is quite a bit of space and I'm guessing that they would take 32c, just about. The pinch point is the bolt head going into the bottom of the seatpost (had to drill a hole through the 'guard and used one of the fixing bolts plus 2 x washers), although you could probably use some form of recessed bolt.

WTF happened to Stoke today?

We were shite, is what happened. Not just a hangover from Tel Aviv, more worryingly it looked like none of the team were really up for it. Important to re-find our home form against QPR on the 19th or I fear a long miserable season....
