In.
Mainly due to the selfish reasons that my experience within the European scientific community has been amazing. Erasmus programs at university, a huge shared pot of money for funding etc. Now living in Switzerland with minimum effort for visas (this is already changing with recent changes to swiss law).

The 108 is a beast of a ski. The day I took it out, there wasn't much powder to speak of but it just blasted through the crud. It feels a lot more solid than the 92, I think the titanal (or whatever) plate is beefier. I liked it on piste, it had impressive edge hold when doing big GS turns, but then again, it's rare for me to ski anything <100. I'd be interested to try the 100 as I think it'd be better as an everyday ski, unfortunately we don't sell it.

I agree re: line supernaturals, have skied the 92 and the 108 this year, both quite different but excellent skis. The Cochise is also very similar. The Camox as with most black crows has quite a stiff tail, so if you tend to end up a bit in the back seat they can be really hard work. Can also recommend the Faction Candide 2.0 if you fancy a twin tip, I have a pair and haven't found conditions yet where they can't cope. Stiff enough for the groomers and enough rocker in the tip and tail to have some real fun in the powder.
I was at a ski test last week and tried quite a few skis. The new salomon QST (replacing the RCKR and Q series) were very good, not dissimilar to the black crows camox / navis / corvus line. The other standout ski was the atomic backland 109. Its a lightweight, reasonably soft backcountry touring ski. Armada ARV 106 and K2 Marksman were both meh.

My most recent project was making a set of panniers for the GF's christmas present. Pretty simple tote bag construction, with reinforcement on the back and bottom using a clipboard and an A4 file. Main body is Cordura, floating liner is nylon ripstop, outer pocket is just 300D PU polyester, all from profabrics.co.uk. Hardware was the hardest thing to source, I think the bottom clips came from Carradice and the hooks from Edingburgh cycle. Took about 3 days to complete, but well worth it.

Got a bottle of this for christmas:

A bit harsh due to it's youth but some nice caramel notes going on.

I'm getting my wife a GoPro for Christmas, the Hero + LCD, can anyone tell me if it's essential to have a mount of some sort to use with it and which is the best value in your experience? She will mostly be shooting footage by hand.
What will she be shooting footage of? Will she want to shoot whilst moving? If stationary, then any hand grip will do. I would really only recommend a gopro for shooting sports or underwater. For general holiday videos, a camera with a narrower field of view would be better. The gopro is very wide angle and anything further than a few meters away appears very small on the picture.

If you have tech compatible boots and touring specific skis i really can't see the point in the freeride pros. I absolutely hated them when I used them on a pair of demo skis. A combination of the high stack and the heelpiece just not matching the curve of my boot just didn't instil any confidence. Most tech bindings now come with a guide to get your toe placement right, so it's much easier to get in securely.

Can you use the supernova rear lights without the front? I thought the front had a AC - DC for the tail light? (http://www.peterwhitecycles.com/supernova.asp)

Down by the lake it doesn't get too cold. I rode all year round in Lausanne and never had much of a problems with the roads, unless this happens:
It's been really warm recently, so you will be able to get up into the Jura, or even the alps for some decent climbs. I was riding up around St Bernard valley last week and it was perfect. Been back in the UK for a week now though, so could have cooled down a bit!
It's here boys and girls!
