So I've solved the issue. It was the chain. Think it just had slightly thicker plates causing a bit more friction.
Super silent now with a KMC Z1 chain fitted.

Bit of a weird one. The chainline actually looks ok, I put a 2mm spacer on it and it sounded worse than before! I'll try and take some better measurements so watch this space! I put the rear wheel on from my other SS and it's silent so maybe I should just replace the wheels and treat myself to a new pair for the other bike!

Is anyone interested in this before I sell elsewhere?
I originally bought it as a run around with the boy but it's far too nice and had been hung up in my shed ever since!
It is a mint F700 19 inch frame.
Every part is in beautiful and original condition. Headshock works, paintwork is immaculate, even the original tyres are in excellent condition.

I'm having a bit of a chainline issue with my V3 Pompino. The wheels are original spec Planet x AL30s with On One hubs. Thing is, the chainline is about 45mm at the front and 40mm on the back leading to some chain noise.
I'm selling the bike as it doesn't really get much use but don't want people to be put off; I swapped in the rear wheel from my other SS and it is super quiet (Halo hub with the correct chainline).
Any suggestions or shall I just add on the advert about this issue?

Selling my lovely Peugeot due to lack use use.
Think it's an 18 inch frame (ST 47cm c-t and TT 54cm c-c)
It's in really good condition, there's a few surface scuffs but that's it.
I'll add some more pictures shortly.
Gears all work smoothly, brakes good too.
It's all original apart from the shifters which the previous owner changed to improve ergonomics.
Tyres are Specialized Nimbus 1.95.
