I'm planning to buy a set of DA 7600 hubs from Phil The Power Taylor on eBay and am after some rims to go on them. CD's seem to be the most understated grey/black rims I can find for a reasonable price.
As they're £50 each new, I'm not looking to pay more than that but would happily buy a set of them laced to any decent track hubs, up to around £250 - which is what I'm looking at paying after buying hubs/rims/spokes.Anyone got anything?
Cheers

Currently debating whether those Record wheels work, or whether I should get some DA black ones instead. If I stick with the records,

http://i.imgur.com/2ysz2.jpgRecord ones for sure. Not keen on the others at all. Second build looks nice.
Yeah, those first wheels are junk, but work for my commute. They're heavy, and look like crap, but give me an impression of what black rims/hubs look like on the bike.
The real question is silver or black and low profile or deep rims.
I love the Records, but I'm not sure they suit such a late 90s paint job, I think black/graphite would look better. -

Prob the way it looks like the forks protrude above the headset and the way the seatpost stays up without a bolt to hold it...
Oh aye, didn't even notice that. I thought the forks looked bent, that clearance between down tube and wheel is weird, especially considering the rear clearance at the back. Although obviously the forks aren't original, so I think that's confusing me.

French track frame bought off here for track and (dry) road use.
Pretty much NOS, made of SLX.
First picture with some beater Condor wheels for road, and second with Record tubs for track (yeah, that front tub is flat).Currently debating whether those Record wheels work, or whether I should get some DA black ones instead. If I stick with the records, I'd like to get a C-Record or DA crankset to match the silver...
Also, yes, short stem - I appear to have sold the 100mm one I had that fit the Criteriums. Seems to work on the short spin I've just had on it though, doesn't feel too cramped. I prefer riding further over the back wheel anyway.
And yes, needs a bigger chainring. I have a 52-18 set up on another bike that I can swap over when Herne Hill reopens to give me track gearing by swapping out the cog.

Soz if reeps.
Nice "vintage" wheelset w/ tubs freewheel etc for £50 bin / £30 no bids 1 day left - seems OK to me.
They have been posted before. I think the issue is the non original rear skewer/QR. Still a good deal though, those tubs are £19 each new, so (crudely) £12 for a set of Record wheels?
Rims do seem to have a fair amount of wear as well.

Yeah, fair point. I'm sure stolen stuff does end up in pawn shops though, they can't all be reputable.
I know they're usually hot on taking ID of people for frequently stolen things (I've seen people trying to flog PS3s etc with the "oh, sorry mate, I don't have any ID on me, my address is uh..." without success) but stuff must slip through.
Just sets alarm bells ringing for a bike that was bought a few months ago to have been sold to a pawn shop for, presumably, a massive loss (depends what JRKO bought it for, I suppose). -
sure! i've seen in flesh, how would i know otherwise? guy appeared to know nothing about the bikes...or pretends so...
Ah ha, I thought maybe you'd seen more pictures or something.
Either way, sold for £310, someone's going to be unhappy when they find out.
It's a shame you can't contact bidders on eBay anymore, feel like they should be told! -

Got first dibs on those already ;)
