Procured a front Bianchi carbon fork this week, went to fit it and realised it has no thread on the steerer, being carbon this makes sense but it didn't twig at the time...
What I want to know is will it, or can it be adapted to fit? I'm assuming i'll need a 1" threadless headset, what stem is used on a carbon steerer as a quill stem will damage the steerer presumably.
Bit confused on this so a bit of help would go a long way, obviously these came as a standard items on a bike once so would like to know how they fitted!
Thanks in advance.

My Dad collceted this in the week, no idea what it is.]
Reynolds 531 tubing, simplex gearing, weinmann brakes, suzu wheels and a Falcon headset - pretty sure it's been built as a mix and match.
What we'd like to know is the make/model of frame -
The sticker says 'special' and there is a sticker down by the crank that reads holdsworthy? Most of the sticker is worn away.
Here are a few pics, it's been stood for a number of years!

Collected this tonight, me being a stranger to old bikes and bikes in general i'd like some info on the vintage of the bike. I am aware of who Eddy Merckx is and what he's acheived etc. I plan on giving it the 'tlc' (words from previous owner) that it needs i.e. cables, tyres, tubes etc and getting on the road with it! I think the model is 'Tour De France'
Cheers
