I bough one of these as a gift, serves the same function, is exquisitely made, japanese, legal carry. They do several options with mother of pearl, wood and stuff for handles

I bought a Rockstead partly as a bit of a treat (see the post) but mostly for the cutting edge. I do fine leather and woodwork. I have knives that are much sharper than a cut throat razor needs to be, and they take a lot of time and skill to get that way. Some days I like to start off by honing them before I start work, some days I want to get to work and not faff around. Some days I do something dumb and because the edges are so fine they damage quite easily (I use metal rulers as cutting guides, I commonly snag the blade or tip on it, and that means at least 15 minutes of work to rest the edge.
The Rockstead is so hard (and sharp) that it doesn't need any attention, so far despite a lot of cutting it hasn't needed any honing, and I just take it out and start cutting right away. It makes me smile it is so effective.
Worth £300? To most people, no. It's the plainest knife out there. To me it certainly is. -

Two bits of knife porn came my way this week. The farrier’s knife from Sheffield dates from around 1900 but is possibly even earlier, and will be my pocket knife for the foreseeable future. The Rockstead neck knife was something I saw a while back and I was impressed by its amazing edge. A bit of a treat really, but as I sold my car, and have no plans to buy another I treated myself using what I would have spent on a year’s insurance.

Do you want a BRP bag instead?
I bought this years ago, and have hardly used it for the last few years. It's faded bit but it has a BRP lock holster and a keyring included.
Let me know if you're interested -
There's a group near me who swim in the Thames all year round, I plan to join them in the summer and spend a year river swimming at least once a week. I've become a bit of a fan of ice buckets and cold showers after a swim in my local lido. I guess the river in winter is the next step but I don't think I could / should try it just yet!

Ah, rereading my comment it isn't that clear. Their basic Rufflander are made to order but not custom, and start at £63. Their upper range branded William Lennon are £180 upwards but are relatively customisable in choice and colour of leather, type of sole etc
-
Another vote for William Lennon. Their steel toecap Rufflander boots are actually amazing and £60 must be he best value out there. They're made to order so you'll have to wait. I have had a pair as work boots for three years, astoundingly comfy.
But if you phone them and have a chat they'll make something exactly as you like, they'll send you leather samples to choose from, pick your own soles etc.
I was so impressed by the Rufflander I bought a couple of pairs of their best boots and I am sure they'll outlive me. -
I think you've completely missed XR's point.

Never mind, you're not alone. But I strongly suggest if you are really bothered by climate breakdown you try to do something about it.
Loosely it can be broken down into two things: Do what you can do, and persuade the major causes of climate breakdown to do something about it.
What you can do is relatively tiny and ineffectual, but it helps and it makes you feel good.
Putting pressure on governments institutions and the media has a massive impact.
That's what XR is doing, and for a young organisation breaking new ground with entirely new structures and ideas it is having a remarkable impact. Sure it's a bit whack at times, not everything works as planned, but even the queen thinks it is commendable. -

Unsurprisingly the course got cancelled because there was no other interest.
They were going to run another one and let me know but I never heard from them again.
That was a bit of a blessing.
My family got a refund and bought me a bottle of I assume really nice whisky with it. I had given up alcohol a while before so I still have that for guests and emergencies.
It remains unopened as I have had neither.
Still have the drum. I use it as an ornament and conversation piece.
In a strange twist I joined a samba band for a few days in the XR rebellion in April. There I discovered I have absolutely no sense of rhythm or timing.
I won't be doing that again.
This year they got me a pair of Jeans. Terrible things to cycle in though.
Flight restrictions, a severe downturn in the economy, massive population reduction.
You never know this thing might be a blessing in disguise for the human race.
