Er, it's not a motorway.
I've ridden like a twat with the best of them in my time, but there were plenty of wince inducing moments there. Nobody has to do anything odd or stupid when your speed differential between lines of traffic is that high and the clearance is that small - a 3 inch drift off line by a dozy car driver and you're off.
Granted, but look at the way he navigates the close sections! where its too tight he goes in the other lane! where there is a turn he goes nearside and avoids the turning traffic.
imo the guy is an expert rider and teh vid proves it. I have seen other vids attempted by lesser riders which were nowhere near as smooth or controlled. a near miss could happen at any speed, with similar consequeces should you get knocked off and run over.

Fair enough neu, your entitled to your view and it is shared by many im sure. If you watch the vid. imo the dude was in complete control. part of experience is learning to avoid inexprience and this dude had no close calls or squeaks, he was in complete control, he slowed, accelerated etc all smoothly and expertly.
i like a bit of adrenalin in my blood, maybe you do too, but i like overdose levels, and that guy obviously does too - but has the skill to match!!
I don't know where to start.
Riding over 100mph through motorway traffic is not really that different to weaving through traffic on a push bike? Right. Not that either aren't idiotic.
He's on a public road with hundreds of other not so experienced drivers. Using quote marks and the word brigade does nothing to change this fact

I think its a cool vid personally. done something similar - though through less congested london streets at night on the back of a friends R1 a couple years back. without helmet which was stupid! no excusing that. But one of the biggest rushes I ever had.
The dude in the vid was obviously very experienced and a good rider. its not really that diff to the couriers and some other cyclists you see weaving in and out of traffic in London, they know what they re doing im sure - mostly. Diff is london roads are narrow and short in the main. in places like the sttes, germny and where they have large wider roads/highways you can do this. Motorways are the closest thing we have.
I dont believe people do these things without knowing how to handle their chosen method of transit. But I expect the "cautious" brigade will frown upon such acts as being reckless and life endangering etc yada yada...

Fuck I dont know how to use multi quote!
Markyboy - I am not actually a civil servant anymore but I work for a regulator - but membership stays with you once you keep on paying. So I dont get the holiday perks, just the membership perks.
Nebula - I was waiting for that one! slapped myself once I posted and read it over again.
Stir - funny guy.. very good
Jim - I have never been there, i dont expect it to be stringfellows but, its cheap and there to be used! if we need female entertainment we can always draft in strippers or one of the civil service slags.. oh so pc! er.. unless any of the female members are ivil servants!! in which case disregard the previous sentence.

aren't you about to lose your job what with all the cuts coming up?
good to see my tax is going towards subsidising your alcoholism.(is that vitriolic enough for you?)
Hopefully I'm not about to lose mine! with all the cuts - two year pay freeze, 25% reduction in operating costs - i think the staff deserve something! plus its not like its half price or somethng really good!
It could be even more vitriolic actually, but I think people realise it aint no playground in the CS any more!

shit, this is becoming a proper war between bikes and motorists, next it will be three way between motorbikes cyclists and cars! Mad max and shit..
I dont know if I would be too shook at the time, but violence would make me feel a whole lot better about the situation! tried to pull a guy of his bike in traffic! fuckhimup.com

I'll try to keep it short. I'm a civil servant, sort of - quango/agency blah blah, If you are a civil servant or know government structure you will know.
Anyway I am also a member of the civil service sports club 'CSSC' (£2 a month membership). As a member we get a load of discounts etc blah blah.... the point is, we also get access to the civil service bar in Chadwick street, Victoria. Which is discounted (not like a pub where your porking the barmaid discounted, but good enough) and nice and central.
price list:

There are a number of drinks, North, East etc, I was wondering who would be interested in a civil service drinks? This is a dangerous proposal knowing the normal civil servant type! However I reckon if you ride a FG/SS you must have some life in you!??
Thats it, now let the cunning linguistery and flaming begin....
