hi!
this will be my second fixed gear bike. Not a track frame. I used an old stell road frame i bought
(only the frame. The rest of it i just applied to help me visualize the bike)

Than i cuted the cable supports for derailleurs (trying to "clean" the frame"). I left the brake cable guide at the toptube because i didn't know if it will be a fixed gear ou a singlespeed. (not at that time).
I bought an alumínium fork and than polished it. I did the same to shimano 600 stem and dura-ace seatpost. Bought also fixed gear wheels (silver formula hubs with weinmann rims)
Campy cranks (i'm waitning for a 48t chainring) and a flite saddle.
...soon it will be finished ;)

There seems to be a lack of 'personality' in the bikes selected for this thread these days? It's all either amazing lug-work, 'classic' restorations or bikes that are just put together with good parts. What happened to the bikes that look like someone loves them? Tsk Tsk
well, i love mine. That's the important thing ;)
do you love yours? -

hi again
this is my first singlespeed project.
...also my first "road" bike. I was a BTT lover...

i used a columbus steel road frame. I cleaned the cable supports and than painted the frame with a color i made (mixing alot of colors... i can't repeat that color again :) )
Mavic Aksium road wheels, dura-ace stem, cranks shimano 600 tricolor...some weeks ago i was thinking about fixing the bike
the different set of wheels (back wheel: weinmann ; front wheel: gipiemme tecno) helped me visualize it

right now i have it singlespeed (as the first pics)

Well done noca, the bike is stunning. I missed the price the first time i read it, thats a cracking deal. I'm trying to think how I can justify getting another alu track bike
thanks! ;)
well, i did alot of work on it (preparing the frame for paint and the paintjob) and that's why the price was so low.

That is a 9.5, maybe even a 10. lovely.
WOW!!!
hey people.... please don't make me sleep with it :)
thanks again for the great comments ;)i love it becouse it's my bike (my first fixed gear project) and the one that made me ride fixed for the first time.
I did several singlespeed ones before but not like this one. The singlespeeds i did i only used road frames and "cleaned" them (cable supports...) ...just trying to get a clean look on them
soon I will show some of them here ;) -
Share de price of frame Noca, if that's ok with you. Please.
:)
well, it's was only 250€ (more or less) but without all the frame work (preparing for the paintjob) and the paintjob (i did that).
The price i've paid was for the frame as you can see in the first pic i showed.
I think with the paintjob it will be 300€ (i can't tell you for sure) -

thanks you all for the nice comments ;)
well, i learned alot with this built. I love my bike but i think if i will draw it now i will make the downtube closer to the front wheel. That will only affect the look of it and not the ride of it.
But i'm working already on a new one (a steel one)
...maybe to learn again with some mistakes :)i think i forgot to show you this pic

and me ridding it

hey nuknow, and what about that idea of you building a frame in Valdemiro?
-
-
hi! this is my first fixed gear built (not my first project).
I used Easton tubes (aluminium scandium... very light). I draw the geometry of the frame and than Valdemiro (a great Portuguese frame maker) did this:

I love the cannondale track frame (i'm an old fan of cannondale... alot of BTT with one). You will understand why i said this.
Than i "spent" alot of hours preparing for the paint job. The reason of it was the weldings...

Than i applied the "aparelho" (sorry! I don't know the english word for it)

It was time to work on the color. I spent 2 days trying to make/find the one i like. My ideia was to make a "dark" bike with black stickers. Grey it was (3 blacks, 1 yellow, 1 brown, 1 white).

here i show you how the bike was built at first

than with a gipiemme tecno wheel

I never rode a fixie before... i had to spend some weeks with this "bullhorn"
Now i have the bike with a track handlebar

a zoom of the welding look

the bike is not finished. I want to change the pedals and the cranks
i have to wait for better days (€) :) -

Yeah I rode my moto down to Lagos last summer then came back up the west coast. Beautiful area, was thinking on the way back would be great to cycle it. Stopped in Costa Nova one night, saw alot of cyclists around there.
wow!
you almost stopped in front of my house ;)
yeah! Alot of bicycles here. I think that's one of the places with more bicycles in Portugal.

the tyre will be black soon. I bought the wheels with tyres. ;)
The headset had to be like this :(
I had two (a black one and a silver one). The black didn't fit the fork. This silver one did. But than the fork hasn't the same measure of "rosca" (sorry! don't know the english word)
i did not want to buy a new one so i had to work with what i had
