Ryde rims are a good option.
I love mine. Some models have sidewalls with CSS coating. A sort of ceramic coating which seems to get stronger and stronger the more it is used. Much better and durable than the Mavic version.
Check out the Edge and most of all the Andra rims. -

In Germany they are very well know. Because, obvious it is a German brand but also because they make high quality stuff. Their bikes are multiple (magazine) test-winners. Magazines like RAD-Touren.
I like them a lot. Really good stuff. And nice and simple designs.
Here in the Netherlands they are also not very well know. Only in a few places for sale.
