ATTENTION:
Berlin has now a "Fahrradstaffel" = i.e. organized cops on bikes, for the first time. All has started yesterday, 16th July 2014.
Link: http://www.morgenpost.de/berlin/article130240115/Fahrradstaffel-im-Einsatz-gegen-Rad-Rowdys.html
Facts: 15 male and 5 female cops
Bikes: crappy Hartje Nanago 11-speed trekking bikes, each weighs 17.6kg (ha-ha)
Area: Mitte and partly Tiergarten (Regierungsviertel)
Time: 7:00-20:00, one shift from 7-14, other one from 13-20, apparently just two cops together every dayObviously these are horrible news, as they will (unlike I remember in the UK) also control if you have two brakes, a bell, wheel and pedal reflectors, lights and all that shit.
What a stupid measure to make people stay away from using bicycles - so wrong and idiotic. It all goes SO in the wrong direction.

Hi,
I am looking for a pair of all-black wide clincher rims (i.e. the brake surface is dark, too, usually hard-anodized), at least ETRTO 622-19 wide, ideally 622-21 or more.
For **rim **brakes, only, please!Alesa, for example has produced those things in the past, like the Alesa 9021 for example. Not sure if Mavic has ever done a 622-19 or wider in their ceramic coating which would be great, too.
Either just the rims, or a complete wheelset.
PM me!

Hi,
I recently bought an old 700c full suspension aluminium frame in order to build up a SSFS bike. The problem is that there is a small crack on the joint piece near the dropout.
As it is a FS frame, the frame consists of several parts, i.e. we are talking about the "chainstay part". As this part is not that big, I could even imagine having it hardened after the repair.I have thought how it could be repaired and would like to hear your thoughts. BTW, I have the feeling that the crack did not come from
excessive stress, but because of non-chamfered (too sharp) edges on the part.
The current situation is this:
The area where the crack is, is solid, i.e. not a tube. And I had the idea that the crack could be milled out completely (a 3mm mill head for example would be wide enough) and then the gap is TIG-filled with aluminium:

By the way, this is the whole frame:

What do you think?

Hi, I am looking for a 700c wheelset from an old trekking bike or similar, i.e. a 700c wheelset with a bit wider rims (like 21-622 or so) that can fit wider tyres.
The rims shall be all black, including brakewalls (for example Alesa or Rigida made stuff like that), and rim-brake compatible, i.e. please no modern disc-only wheelsets.
Hubs don't matter that much, just anything that works ok.
Might consider to buy just rims if no one has a wheelset.
Must be able to ship.
Cheers
