I made pumpernickel recently and that mixed yeast with cocoa powder and it was fine. I can't remember the order in which they went in, you might want to have a look at some pumpernickel recipes to get a sense of how cocoa and yeast do or don't get along. Personally I would just do a regular panettone with choco chips and some melted choco icing on the top.

Did you ever find one? We bought a chocolate chip panettone from Genarro's fine deli in Lewisham that I look forward to eating. Don't think I have ever really seen a chocolate one.

Pretty sure I got mine in a sale, at least with a discount code.

I can't believe that poor man actually allowed them to photograph him for pictures that would run alongside such drivel. I am a journalist / news editor and when reporters pitch me ideas among my first questions is, `Hasn't this story already been done, what are we saying that is new?'
