I actually came to this thread to ask (but forgot in my rant mode):
Who is the american-sounding rider on the bugundy Robin Mather? We spoke just before I went on, he'd left the Intermediate session, he was being very complimentary about my bike. But then later I was driving in Nunhead, and heckled at him out the window 'Get some brakes!' - then he looked peturbed, didn't see me, and I felt guilty! Only having a laugh, hi if you're on here.Ha. Was indeed me. You are right I didn't see you and had a wtf moment. Thought it was another London nutter. Will say hi next time.

Wasn't sure where this goes so will leave it here. It's a start, but I wonder where they are getting their advice on what to do and not to do.
May 24 (Press Association) -- Learner drivers are to be taught cycle awareness under plans announced today by the UK's two biggest driving schools. AA Driving School and BSM have committed to ensuring all their instructors cover vital skills about driving around cyclists. All driving instructors from both schools will have a module which covers some "dos and don'ts" about sharing the road with cyclists. Instructors will also be given a worksheet about safe driving around cyclists for their pupils to use. This worksheet sets out the facts about cyclists on the roads and encourages learners to think about the care, courtesy and consideration they should afford those on two wheels. The driving schools said they are committed to improving road safety by radically reducing cyclist casualty rates which showed that 107 were killed and 3,087 seriously injured on the roads in 2011. -

If you look at the Vulpine jersey with the button neck instead of the round neck for some reason it has two bigger pockets in the back and a zipped horizontal pocket between them for your cash/phone, so maybe that has the cargo capacity you want?

Yes I edited my first post to include rider status. If it were worse I wouldn't have posted it, but the sky report suggests all will be ok. Hope they are right.

It does seem kind of a shame when you got that whole group to have such unclassic tyres, but I'm sure you could just put on something a bit more subdued -- and that you can actually ride -- rather than really splashing out if you can't find any cheap Soyo?

RIP rider. Driver charged with causing death by driving without due care and attention and is due before magistrates in Southampton on June 7, the BBC reported today.

I had a pleasant pootle in proximity of one of those massive scary Keltbray tipper lorries yesterday on my ride in, around Druid St. then up through crossing London Bridge northbound, where they all empty off to the left at the top. Kind driver gave me lots of room, acknowledged my signals, etc. Wish they were all as attentive as this one. (EY12 YHZ if i recall). I saw the same lorry today around the same place/time and it made me wonder if the same driver gets the same lorry every day. I couldn't tell if it was the same driver or not.
