Speaking of gadgets, anyone got a blendtec or vitamix blender? if so just how useful are they? am trying to eat healthier and these seem to be able to whip up a lot of the stuff you pay through the nose for in health food stores from scratch.
just wondering if they justify the significant outlay or not.
This popped up today, more than you could ever want to know about the Vitamix

Saturday's session was not dissimilar to a normal intermediates as opposed to the expected chain gang, and the coaches did a good job managing the range of abilities. Slower riders got paced on the white line, while the rest of the group did drills from pairs riding above the blue. Seemed pretty orderly to me.

I posted this over in the police spotting thread, but fwiw since it seems relevant here recent research from the University of Bath found no benefit from high-vis.

Wasn't sure where to put this so here will do
A cyclist who admitted hitting a nine-year-old girl at a pedestrian crossing in Poole, leaving her critically ill, has been jailed for 12 months.
Philip Benwell, 38, of Crescent Road, Bournemouth, admitted causing grievous bodily harm to Leila Croftson in July.
At Bournemouth Crown Court, Benwell was told he committed "a selfish act" and took a serious risk to save a few seconds, shattering a family's life.
