only fair to mention that (I think due to genetics) the breed can be susceptible to bone cancers. I’m sure this is the case w many breeds but I only have experience w greys... and from bitter bitter experience losing one to cancer was one of the worst things to happen to me ever.

really affectionate. don’t need a lot of walking. very low energy generally. don’t need a lot of space. downsides are they can have health issues but.... so do all dogs?

got a couple of pairs of these, as replacements for defeet duragloves. seem pretty nice - and roubaix-lined. not ridden yet (and always found defeet dgs very good in spring/autumn and dry winter). they were also pretty good in light showers... proof will be in the pudding with these I guess

can't get any kind of a special trade deal with the UK because being in the EU doesn't allow this... and can piss off his EU neighbours who he actually has to carry on working with. seems like a dumm strategy to me

labour's electoral map after the 2017 GE was an order of magnitude better than the position they were in after the 2015 GE. the 2015 result was basically like the 1983 result inasmuch as it basically wrote off the next GE before it had happened - you have to understand the 2017 GE in that context.

following 2015, the tories only had a few seats with small majorities and there were lots with fortress-sized positions. it was a similar position in scotland where the SNP had lots of seats with super-majorities following 2015... after 2017, there are lots of vulnerabilities dotted around the map for LAB to go after. you'd think (with JC's control more established over the party apparatus) the next campaign in scotland would be run more on the front foot and less like an edinburgh south by-election

to just become the largest party following 201, LAB needed a swing of 5.4 percent. contrast that with the electoral map as it stands now - a 5.4% swing would give them a majority of 1 (if we assume the polls are right in scotland and LAB make no gains.) if they do make gains in scotland, on a uniform swing, 5.4% gives them a majority of 28.

someone was telling me recently that scotrail have a policy that they'll get you home if you have a mechanical. could maybe slip your chain or even just let the air out your tires to feign a puncture... would confirm this policy first before relying on it though

the glass on my cheap chinese cree light has become a little loose - it now rattles constantly when I cycle. I was planning to run a little superglue around the diameter to try seal it/stick it again - anyone got any better ideas or reckon that will work fine?
