Of course when I come to think about it the 'Digger Diet', which I thought just meant giving up processed sugar, does also mean no drink, meat, very little fish and almost exclusively veg and fruit.
YOu could safely up the fish quotient, then. White fish, if poached or steamed, gives you plenty of protein and for very little in the way of calories. Oily fish is more calorie dense but has vitamin D and many other goodies. Both kinds provide nutrients which aren't easy to pack into a vegetarian diet.

Big calorie deficit and crap diet may get you short term weight loss but it's very bad for your health and you're likely to rebound badly. Truthfully, if you're losing much more than 1.5 kilos a week, you're overdoing it. Better to take a moderate deficit and make permanent changes to your diet. And the more aggressive the calorie deficit, the more important it is that you have a good diet with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, to provide the vitamins and minerals that you will otherwise lose.
Crash dieters usually end up in quite bad shape, having lost as much lean tissue as fat, and risk complications through vitamin deficiency. Puts a big strain on your cardiovascular system too; yoyo-dieters can end up with a bigger risk of heart disease than if they'd just stayed overweight the whole time.

I did notice an odd compulsion on the part of many cyclists to urinate against the hedges of people's houses, rather than the many miles of hedgerow in the open countryside. That, in itself, doesn't make much noise, of course, but it may have given a bit of a start to any insomniacs or early-morning bladder-emptiers, when they looked out their windows to see helmetted silhouettes along the front of their house...

Good fifth definition.
