How have I judged her?
I merely pointed out that what she had done appeared to be in stark contrast to the image that she was trying to portray in the dress that she ended up buying.
I have no tattoo work whatsoever, so for all intents and purposes I have no business on this thread. I am however, fascinated by the work that people have done. The details are incredible and there are some truly gifted artists out there, but it´s just not for me.
You are implying that tattoos convey an overtly sexual image, that the tattooed person desires to be looked at... their body is for public consumption. It's the short skirt/ asking for it argument, but because being tattooed is a choice it seems ok to levy it at people, right?

morgasm that is an awesome tattoo...
Math is at self sacrifice....I was in there yesterday looking at his book...like the different style but not sure if it will fit with all the more traditional work i already have.
Have an idea for what I want in a next design but unsure of what style to have it in. Probably stick with black and grey again as I think it doesnt look as dated.
How are shins for getting done? I am assuming pretty painfulFront and sides are a piece of piss, back can be a bit tender.

Spoke to Steve (Landlord Coach and Horses, Souths Drinks) this evening, he's happy for us to use the upstairs room by arrangement for Tattoo thread meets, if there's interest I'll arrange a date, thoughts people?
I don't want to sound like Lynx but that's over 20mi.s round trip for me and if I'm healing my thighs I'm not going to be cycling down wearing thermals that stick to it. So probably not for a few months.

I don't have to go down that far to show mine, but if them's the rules...
Logical run on to this would be to get lots of heavily tattooed people in the serpentine (in high high summer obviously).
However I think an "underwear must be worn" dress code is always best or you'll have people hiding their junk with a hand in pubs.
Somewhere warm would make the whole thing more sociable though in this weather. -

Thanks for the heads up on Dark Times, but its not my scene, I'm more into uk house and garage type stuff, and some techno, although getting a bit old for that these days...
I think it functions as the offical afterparty. Surely we'll all be shit faced by then?! After being in the cold night with only booze to keep us effectively warm...

This weekend isnt much use to me, I'm working during the day on Saturday, then going to Herne Hill after work for some cyclocross with christine (watching, not competing!). Maybe the weekend of November 6th?
Or maybe next Thursday? I have Thursdays off. Whats your schedule like?
I have Vol. I and III of the books so I am looking forward to seeing the original drawings.
I'm at Herne Hill too, hopefully on gears because I'll be injured and drunk! You going to Dark Times after? Dancing in cleats, niiice. Weekend of the 6th sounds sweet.
Thursday day is good, I have weight lifting in the evening.

Fuck yeah! you too? want to look at diaries?
Booked a consultation with Stewart at Frith Street for the end of Nov but he has no appointments free to get inked until Jan at the earliest.. not ages to wait but I am impatient!
Stewart is utterly, completely awesome. Once you're on his books it gets easier though.

Glad you enjoyed it! I dont think its ms.chris' thing regrettably...
Dont apologise for being a beginner. Everyone had to start sometime and get to grips with controlling the bike and hitting the ball. You did well today.
Do you ride brakeless normally around the city?I'd recommend regular attendance on Tuesday evenings if you can organise it.
Downham on Sundays might be a bit of a baptism of fire... although I guess there's no better way to learn and improve than playing with established players.Unfortunately I have a regular commitment on tuesdays that I can't currently wiggle out of. This scheduling problem chafes my nips something rotten. Am trying to organise around it.
I do have a brake on my daily bike, it's just not very effective! Skidding with a brake was a bit woooaargh.... yeeeah.
We popped by Donwham on the way back, but they were scarily impressive.
I think some hardcore solo practise on shots and skills might improve before I can face Downham. You were all really supportive and encouraging though. Especially after I ran head on into the wall. If there are any more gentle sunday knock arounds please count me in.

Some artforms I want in my skin, but there's a much wider range I can appreciate on other people.
The art brut style of tattooing is incredibly beautiful, but wouldn't go with my eventual full coverage suit. The strength of character to make a aesthetic statement is an attractive quality, even if the tastes aren't to your liking.

Some people have such extensive coverage that it is not easily covered by ordinary clothing, not everyone gets work for narcissistic or attention demanding reasons. Frankly it's a fucking pain in the arse to have visible ink.
Being a heavily tattooed woman means that people are constantly making assumptions about your sexual availability. People letch at, grab and lick (no I am not joking) your tattoos in a way that could actually be considered assault. Then upon receiving a slap they are hurt and angry that you reacted adversely to their obviously welcome attention.
You stated the tattoo was at odds with the woman's perceived virginity or the sexual innocence she wished to convey in her attire. I'm sorry but that does come across as making sexual assumptions about her based on her being tattooed.
It's not an unusual viewpoint sadly but that doesn't make it ok or worth perpetuating. Blah blah whatever, having walked around with visible ink for a long time and having to deal with it everyday my patience is shorter with people who might know better based on having tattoos themselves.
