I thought we have put an end to it.
Honestly, I have nothing against him and note that his good helpful advice/deeds have been mentioned countless of times, but in matter of fairness does being helpful = you can flaunt the rules?
All I did was pointed out there was a breach of rule, and in all fairness I did not judge him in any way and my replies are with regards to whether there was an infringement of the said rule.
@coventry_eagle - wind your fucking neck in. The amount of people Hutch has personally helped on here is huge and he's a outstanding asset for the forum.

Went round to Ben's a little earlier, had a nice chat and I'm glad to say that all is cool. I can quite cheerfully say that the forum can rest assured that this beauty is/will be in safe hands now, and in the near future.
Yeaps, if not for the posting above, I would not have been alerted that you are still keen on the bike.
Glad that it will soon leave the safety of my wall and gets ridden more. More importantly the bike pretty much intact and in London :)
Oh, you said that you decided to keep it. I'm back in The Uk, but if rounce's coughing up The whole sum, then it's OK, I suppose.
After my correspondences with you, I did decide to keep it. You were the lest person I contacted, IIRC. I then proceeded to move to arange for the aforementioned split in Sam's post above to fund certain improvements (HED front sold, replaced by Specialized Tri-spoke which I already have etc.).
Then came Rounce's posting which after speaking to him 2 weeks ago and not heard from him since I assumed he went cold on the deal. I should have in hindsight contacted him again.
Quite a quick arrangement actually, one phone call, he popped by in 20 minutes, a 20 minutes chat and inspection of the bike and a deal was sealed with a handshake :)
Will leave the future plans of the bike to Sam to disclose himself.

Hmmmpphhh.... I am still unrepentant! I shall be the devil and further suggest that we look for Boris's personal bike and insert as many spoke cards as we could and fill up BOTH his wheels!!! Or any prominent politician or superstar that we know the whereabout of their bikes!!! :D
must be the stress of dissertation
1 vote for not doing anything without their permission.
Spoke cards on your bike is one thing, targeting government property is another.
It's a well organised campaign and I'm sure they've thought of everything, so why not email Hilary Peachy and ask. -
Hmmm... A cheeky suggestion, anyone can produce these spokecards on the cheap?
Would be nice to hijack the Boris bikes and insert one or two on each of them and let the commuters do the advertising for the cause :)
Insert some message/contacts on them for people who wanna find out more. If in the event there's a caution note/complaint from the bike operators, it's the added bonus of publicity and surely inserting something as harmless as spoke cards is not an act of vandalism?
It's guerilla marketing and any publicity is good publicity :)

Just a suggestion, will be really nice for the cause if he writes something about it.
Back to the subject, I have only been once to the velodrome and have never even put my back on track before, but it was a nice place indeed. Seeing cyclist of all ages on bikes of even more diverse make, age and prep is something to be missed if the place is lost.
i'll take two if possible - I'll send one to my old man in the States. He grew up on that track.

Rounce: I am actually very happy you posted the below. You got PM :)
Yo Benjamin. Sorry if I've got this wrong but I thought we'd agree'd, during an admittedly rather brief conversation at SE+polocrew drinks, that I'd be buying the complete bike off of you after a period of time. At the time you'd said you were happy with the price you paid + a bit more for saving it from fleabay + a donation to the forum.
Sorry if I misunderstood but it came as a bit of a shock seeing this thread, then you confirming via PM that you were splitting. It's a shame to have this luvverly build split up, but do I at least still have first dibs on the frame+forks?
Sorethroat: More than anything (other than collecting the bars from Matt), I was planning to speak to Rounce when I pop by the Roebuck last Tuesday. He has got a PM explaining the whole situation surrounding the bike.
Never my intention to split it, and the bike is still in one piece sitting in my room with a few DIBS on the parts, and I have always maintained, whole bike before split, thus the ball is now in Rounce's court :)
I spoke to him the other nigfht at SE and Ic ouldve sworn he said he was saving it for you.
Regards,

No pics because it's probably arriving from a freecycle somewhere - check the seller.

Drive side only Campy Pista Fluted in the coveted 165mm, 3 days to go, price still pretty low, but with 4 bidders already placing their bids who knows where it will end. Might be of use to someone here perhaps?

Thanks for the link! Will consider :)
coventy eagle - check out Goldtec chainrings, they aren't dirt cheap but they are really good value in my eyes.
