I had a good day out, aside from the 4am wake up and feeling very groggy for a bit post-Leith. Nice to then find that Box Hill is an easy one.
Highlight was a big group of us being escorted through Putney by three of the course motorbikes at what felt like about 35mph (...but was probably much slower).
Sorry to hear about the death, that's very sad.

Considering the number of reminders you get sent about start times, registration, rider numbers, wave loads, getting yourself there, not being late, checking you've remembered to bring your bike, tapering etc. etc., I was expecting the start process last year to be pretty officious. Instead, it was actually nice and smooth with barely anyone telling you what to do, let alone checking bikes on the start line. Hopefully will be the same this year.

^ I'd totally recommend http://www.andon.co.jp/
It's a Ryokan rather than a full Western-style hotel, but that's good if you want somewhere authentic. Very friendly, cheap (for Tokyo) and relatively central. Rooms are seriously tiny and you sleep on a tatami mat, but we loved it.

I've got various bits left over from a couple of builds. All these are pick up only from my place in Crystal Palace/Gipsy Hill SE19:
Deda Newton bars, anatomic shape, 39.5cm outside to outside at their widest point. 31.7 clamp diameter. £free
3ttt Ergo Power due bars, 40cm wide, 26 diameter, I think these have the 'tdf' bend shape, which is a shallow/medium drop and a relatively smooth curve profile. They're in a nice bronzey colour. Same as these which someone a little over-optimistically seems to think are worth £150, £free to you.
Finally, a steel threadless fork with eyelets. Not sure who made this, there is a 'CITY' mark on the steerer, which could suggest it's an All City?
Anyway, 1 1/8 steerer, all 29.5cm of steerer still there (it's uncut, never been used). Weighs 1000g, so not exactly svelte, but seems like really nice quality. NB, this is unpainted! I always planned to get Mario V to spray this up to match my commuter but have never got around to it. £10 -
Lovely frame, I salute any Look-based project but this is a particularly interesting plan. I've had a similar idea for my Cyfac carbon frame and was looking at their factory paint works (http://cyfac.fr/paint/) but Cromaworks are closer to home and the stuff they've been doing with Field bikes is pretty spectacular. Be cool to see how you get on, keep us posted...
I had one of those frames ages ago and absolutely loved it! GLWS
