Everything up to and including Threipmuir Reservoir is easy and would be great. I think you can go around the other bank of at least one of the reservoirs so could make it a loop.

Also just take the road next to the water here, fun but steep and unnecessary gravel climb.

Make sure you sand the edges properly. First thing I see when builders have done cabinetry is burn marks or whiskers from the saw on the edges.

But yeah, those companies are pricey. I could do a whole small kitchen including worktop and fitting for £18k

Customer pays a premium for a kitchen, they don’t want it not as neat as it could be, they also don’t want to make it themselves. Company has overheads, salaries, rent, pensions, insurance, depreciation, VAT etc.

It makes more sense to me than, for instance, paying an estate agent £7,500 to be borderline obstructive to a house purchase.

Also to be fair I’ve managed to make a lot of kitchens without a CNC

I put one of those on the hot feed to our shower mixer (coming from an unvented cylinder). We’re on some kind of shared supply for mains cold, occasionally the shower would be reduced to a dribble. It’s not increased the pressure generally but the dribble never happens now. Considering boosting the cold too to see if we can get hotel shower vibes.
