Well, in a sense all working bikes are functional. However, that's not the spirit or the point of this thread is it? There are a dozen other threads for carbon Di2 beauties (I happen to like the above).
And anyway, it wasn't meant as a criticism, more of a 'you'll get a better response in a suitable thread' comment.

Does anyone know what size MTB tyres I can fit on my Straggler without mudguards.
I've got an MTB Marathon coming up and I'd rather use the Surly than my full sus trail bike, however i don't want to do it on low volume tyres.I Know I can get in something bigger through the fork than through the chainstays but I'd like an idea of a max front and back?

Interesting to see that the stumpjumper @spotter posted further up has not too far off modern trail geo. super slack, short effective stem length, lowish BB and quite long!
