I have a question. I'm vaguely thinking for changing the fork on my straggler to a carbon CX disc fork. It would be an easy way of saving a huge amount of weight as the straggler fork weighs a ton.
Are there any downsides to doing this? and if not what would be a good fork to go for which doesn't break the bank?

I went for Archetypes on miche hubs with sapim spokes 32h in the end.
They're strong (and i'm heavy), and easily repairable. and I got them for £280 new.

I was. However that's more because I assumed the rs31 was a wide rim. I don't really know anything about wheels. Other than that it's now accepted that wide rims give a nicer ride.
So what counts as a wide rim?
And are the elite 24's from superstar components wide/good?
