I had a wheel with a Velocity Aero rim, it looked good and the round section was a nice change of pace from the regular box or V shape rims. Plus the relatively shallow section made building a breeze. That said, if you already own a CXP33, just get another one and build your wheels with them, they are nice enough and should be easier to get your hands on. (CXP33 have these plastic bits inserted into the spoke holes right? That should help make building a bit easier)

Yeah I guess I feel strongly about the subject. I still stand by my opinion but I do realise it's not necessarily wrong for any kid to take part in any activity. The important thing is where the motivation comes from. Track cycling isn't particularly something a kid would pick up out of its own, but if it's enjoyed as a father/son quality time activity, more power to them.

Ironic since you appear to know exactly what a kid want, ever considered the possiblities of them not wanting to climb trees?
Ever considered the possibility that I used "climb trees" as an example of care free activities of their own choosing? How is it ironic that I know what a kid wants? I was one at some point. If a kid does not want to climb trees, it is a girl, and she can do whatever the fuck she wants.

Just to show that a 5'7" riders 29er is'nt a total freak bike (any excuse).

Smallfury your bike is cool, build isn't questionable at all with the white parts. I like white rims on mtb's, originally intended to find someone who can weld disc tabs onto my Klein (26") single speed project and planned on having white rims. Plans changed though, I cold get a set of Magura HS33 for not too much, which in my experience offers equal braking performance to dics but obviously do require a bracing surface.
I haven't read this topic yet, probably should as I'm sure there's a lot of nice bikes here.

You're asking why they would hard anodise them if you aren't supposed to use a brake on them?*
I'd like to ask what the point is in getting a rim without a braking surface and then use a brake on it. Hard anodised or not, it will leave marks and you will have tatty looking rims that actually look worse than rims with a braking surface. So no idea if it's possible but it's something you shouldn't want to do regardless imo.*btw the answer to this question is probably style. So that hipsters will think they own something with retro appeal.

I have both and prefer the Concor.
Concor > Rolls, SLR, Regal, Flite imo.
