strangely quiet thread, this..
does anyone know of any companies that do arranged musette pickups along the route? i.e. you give them a couple of musettes the day before, and they'll have a van at specific points along the way (e.g. Barcelonette/summit of Col de Vars) for you to meet up with them?
when i did marmotte a couple years back there were some companies offering this (the group i went with organised it collectively, so i have no idea how to find/arrange)
don't have any travelling 'support car', and quite like the idea of stashing stuff for pickup mid-ride.
any thoughts?

5 sold, thanks @Danners, great to meet you.
mistake on my part - i got the two BBs mixed up; the Italian threaded one is 'used but runs smoothly', while the English thread was the mint one. apologies all!
and for good measure, price drop on the classic wheel.

1)
£50£40 White flip/flop 40mm wheelset with MSW - same kind of thing as NOLOGO/Mango/Quella/6KU I believe. Came from a bike I bought for parts. Excellent condition, runs true and with no brake wear, though has been used lightly. 16t flip flop. SS has seen maybe 100-200 miles, fixed hasn't met a chain. These seem to retail new over £100, so say £50?2)
£30£20 Classic rear wheel - old school Weinmann rim on Shimano 600 hub. Fitted with a 7-speed TA Specialities cassette. 99% true, with a tiny wiggle which probably just needs one spoke tightened (I'm not savvy enough to try!). Bought from retrobike for £30, and hoping to get the same back.3)
£10£5 Pair of 700x23c red nylon tyres that came with the fixie wheelset. Took them right off for comfier 28c rubber. Very little use, and treads still good.4)
£40£30 Tiagra 4600 2x10 shifters in mint condition. Took them off my bike a couple years ago to upgrade to 105 and they've been sitting around since. Probably sub 200 miles and not all that much shifting done.5) £15 Campagnolo Chorus square taper BB in English thread. Used but runs smoothly.SOLD6) £15 Campagnolo Chorus square taper BB in Italian thread.
Mint and smooth.Used but runs smoothlyMight have more to come as I go through the leftovers...
Thanks!

hey, thanks for the note. as it turns out, i've just this week pulled the trigger on a Thomson Elite (on clearance sale from CRC, so decent value).
I'm testing and comparing, and if I decide to keep the Thomson, I'll probably put the ergopost up for sale - if that happens, I'll let you know :)
cheers

Having a bit of an interior re-decoration and have some old furniture get rid of. Tried to call some charity collections but they can't pick up for over two weeks. So having a go here in case anyone can use them..
Up for grabs:
Two two-seater sofas (the blue one, x2, in the photo). definitely beater, borderline ratty.. They're solid and have no tears/major stains, but not exactly living room centrepiece. Good for student digs or something to sit on in a garage.
One 8ft x 5ft rug (you can see the corner of it in the photo underneath the table). The pile has been flattened to pretty smooth and there's wear and tear in patches. otherwise clean.
One 2ft x 2ft coffee table (in the second photo). solid, just surplus to requirements
Apologies for crappy photo quality, they're taken from an estate agent listing as I don't have actual photos to hand right now. If anyone is interested, I can take better photos tonight.
Collection only from Waterloo SE1. Parking is available (you'll certainly want a vehicle for the sofas - small van like a zipvan will do). Would like them gone by end of week or they'll be taken apart and thrown away.
thanks!

i have a similar project on the go that also has no bottle cage mounts (old Peugeot step-through frame, though without the +1 of building it around a bidon..)
i'm looking at a few options:
1) allows you to attach it to most finishing kit spots
https://www.amazon.co.uk/SKS-Adapter-bottle-water-plastic/dp/B0045HY85M2) attaches to down tube or seat tube
https://www.amazon.co.uk/SKS-Adapter-Anywhere-Topcage-11231/dp/B0144NTZOU/3) with the right saddle, you can go all TT and stick one of these cheap frames behind your (her) bum
https://www.amazon.co.uk/IGEMY-Bicycle-Double-Bottle-Adapter/dp/B01M8Q9F91/4) you could get the frame drilled for mounts
incidentally, if you're looking for swept bars, i just removed one from my project - i'll try get pics and dimensions for you if you're interested

Just per the title!
My Look ergopost is too tall and set back for my liking, so as much as it pains me to swap it out, I'm looking for something that will sit more comfortably and not require me to shift the saddle way forward on the post.
Let me know what you've got; swap or part exchange for my Ergopost is possible. It's the post pictured here: https://lfgss.microcosm.app/api/v1/files/3c02cb6e4bae75540265b8e7b81455178437c75e.JPG

just wanted to say.. i spent a good few minutes ogling your bike through the window when i walked past LMNH last week. i think i freaked out the people on the counter enjoying their coffee...
you should tell the nice people at LMNH that having it behind those world champion stripes makes it hard to ogle. move it down a bit to where they have a rickety old thing and i'll walk past more often ;)

*with forum donation
So I bought six tubs of Bikefood Energy drink mix from this thread a few weeks ago. Since then (I went travelling for a while), the cycling pals I bought it for have bought their own energy drink mix, so I have a few tubs sitting spare.
This is where you come in! For a suggested donation of £5, you get one of these tubs. Pickup only from Great Sutton Street, EC1. I've got 3 to give away, first to PM and show up takes them. If £5 is too much to spend for 1.5kg (40-50 servings) of energy drink... well, then bring whatever pocket change you have - 25p if you like, I'm not going to audit - and remember to pay it forward.
If you were looking at this before, now you have the option of buying just one, and London-based people don't even have to worry about postage. Take one home today!
Details I've simply copied from previous thread, as it was well described and spot on. Photos added, because people like looking at things:
1.5kg per tub. Best before Sept 2017.
Surplus from event sponsorship, tubs are unlabelled but are however
stamped underneath with product name and used by date. Orange flavour.rrp. £20 a tub, product review below

@jwshale i bought these. but if you are looking for just the one tub, i'm unlikely to want to keep them all. PM me and i'll happily set one aside for you. that goes for anyone else perusing this thread.
i'm based in london so you won't even have to worry about postage - EC1 pickup available :)

Funny thing is I actually had that tag prepared last week, ahead of the party, but got tagzumped by @theflatboy to tag set by @Rahario at Coin St (see @Skülly comment about millstones), so I was sitting on it hoping to be able to deploy it before the party.
Then @oat44 set up Slaughtered Lamb for the party, which is 2 mins away from my office cubicle, and things just fell into place :)
My only regret is that in the end I couldn't make it to GSIAD or party due to last minute scheduling :(
Anyway, glad it made for some amusement and sad to see it didn't become a mass tag (where are all the bikes??). On with the game!

Exactly this!! sandwiches in a saddle/toptube/bar bag, soreen stuffed down a jersey pocket
I've also converted to Fori meat snacks, which are nicely savoury but not great for energy density. got a good deal from the cycle show and they were giving them out free at London Revolution, so stocked up on more. They're expensive otherwise.
Last year I found that gazpacho is actually a really good alternative to water/sugar/hydration drinks - might bring a bidon's worth of it along.
thanks @Bsample for the Sports Tours pointer. I'm going with two others but we're pretty much doing it all independently, so was hoping there were companies that do just the musette (or maybe I can ask Sports Tours nicely, or make use of their transfer service then tack it on...)
