Done a fair chunk of sailing and racing too, sounds an awesome trip, and a swan 45 would be perfect. Thing is though am reaching an age where I'm too old for camping, so however much I dream of fast racing yachts, screaming along at night.... frankly each night I wanted to be tucked up in port with hot and cold flushing toilets, a bar and a decent restaurant. That said, so want a go on those cat's.

Best dates involve....IMHO

• cheapness, ideally free, as avoids clash/precedents/embarrassment re any financial inequalities whilst you suss each other out

• shared experience where u can talk at the same time as enjoying the 'event' and aren't stuck for conversation as u get to know each other

• shorter rather than longer....

I used to do Sunday afternoons at the National Portrait Gallery, or sumat at the Tate's. If potential partner hasn't an opinion about some of the 20th Century faces on the walls in either of those two venues I am unlikely to want to wake up next to them very often, unless they are particularly good in bed. If all goes well you could move onto coffee and a cream cake and or a shag, with always the excuse of it being a school night if u want to break off early.

Isn't the whole point that weight is relative. I have a weight obsession - both my own, and my bike's... however when I'm riding a Boris I know it make bugger all difference. Shirley the best way to lose weight on your bike [i.e. rider + bike] is to eat less and cycle more?

I'm just recovering from a double fracture that was repaired surgically. Although I was hospitalised after the accident nobody from orthopaedics looked at me until I attended fracture clinic a week after being discharged (other injuries were more urgent).....etc
