So what is the general consensus on MASHs then?
Reminds me of this

Love the fiming and the thought of bombing down that hill, hate the idea of the fixie skiddaness/my poor rear tyre afterwards.

I'll do so ASAP, but it's at my gfs place :/
And I've taped them down underneath the bartape with electrical tape at like 5 points,
although I didn't put on the metal ferrules, and searching for a pic to describe the lever-cable set up i think i know where I've gone wrong
The holes for the cable aren't large enough for the housing to go in like a brake cable adjuster does, so i stripped a bit of the white plastic coating off, so that the metal brake husing and the cable could fit snugly inside the lever.
**Now this picture shows two metal adaptor bits which i don't have (bought the levers 2nd hand) and would have stopped me from doing the above cutting etc.
**I have a feeling this and redoing teh cables with ferrules on will solve the issue? -

My girlfriends bike I've been helping her put together recently.
Only need to get seatpost/seat/downtube shifter/chain/crank nuts,
the rest is either not fitted in the pics or en route in the post. Should come to ~£300 in total..
Set up the brakes yesterday, but as I feared they feel spongy :S with the brake cables moving slightly under the bar tape :/ may have to visit the LBS for a professional service if it's a problem when it's built up and when riding... now for the pics apologies for the resolution,
just ask if you want any info on the parts

Thanks guys,
Jogger i think 165mm may be getting a bit too small,
but cipoinni any chance of seeing a pic or two?And I should have clarified, maybe this will make a difference, the crank is for a geared bike, just 6sprockets on the rear, singlespeed up front.
I'll have to replace the front chainring anyway so i don't think chain size is a problem, but chainline could be a problem?
(still lots to learn!)

dibs removed, should read more closely
