I do want to see 'The Hunger Games' this week. 'Act of Valor' also looks interesting, more from the production aspect as opposed to the content. They have real Navy Seals in it!
Last week I saw 'The Devil Inside' which was fairly predictable, but well made. 'Contraband' was ok I suppose, you get what you expect with a Wahlberg movie, right?
'21 Jump Street' - which I thought was going to be total shit, turned out to be quite funny and enjoyable. I was surprised by the 'surprise cameo' too. Perhaps I was just feeling nostalgic for the 80s.Which lead me to watch 'Take Me Home Tonight' mainly because of the whole pseudo 80s movie styling. It was probably the soundtrack that drew me in. Not big on story, but I did enjoy it for some reason. I got the 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' dvd so I re-watched that, still holds. Also got 'Take Shelter' which I have not watched yet.

I think the issue lies in the fact that I mostly ride the Steamroller without sufficient padding whereas the road bike never gets used without decent padded shorts. Before I swap them back I'll try the saddle with padding but I think I prefer to keep my clothing options open on the Steamroller.
Bollocks!I'm in the same boat. I want a saddle I can ride both with and without padding. For significant distances. So far the Charge Spoon has served me well. But my commute has gone up significantly. Also since I switched to drops, being more forward all the time I'm finding the Spoon a little uncomfortable. I have been watching this thread again over the last couple of days. So I checked out the Flite, the thing that worries me is that being a little big I won't like it.
try an slr. comfy either way.
Just had a quick look at the SLR too now. Again its the same thing. I think I will try out a Rolls again this weekend. Which is probably what I will go for unless someone has another suggestion.

I put Midge bars on my steamroller this weekend, still haven't put the tape on yet. But will post some pictures when it is ready. I went for the Tektro levers that Condor have in the end since they were black. Using the hoods feels like bullhorns, the other hand positions work too. Just going to take a little getting used too. I have lowered my saddle and moved it slightly forward and down a touch.

The Time Traveller's Wife is just so wrong. I think the time travelling concept wasn't bad but the film was shit. Good move falling asleep
I thought it wasn't that bad. Anything with Rachel McAdams in is fine by me. Though I won't be watching 'The Vow' in case you were wondering.
I re-watched the Bourne Trilogy over the weekend looking forward to the sequel out in a few months time. Going to go see the 'The Best Exotic Marrigold Hotel' this week.

Speaking of flightsims checkout this : http://www.microsoft.com/games/flight/

Coming back to Nick Cage - I watched the new Ghost Rider the other night. I was actually quite impressed. It was clearly not a big budget production like the first one, but still really well put together. Cage was actually good, I think he was more free about what he could do and it shows. Some of the scenes look visually comic-ey, not polished like Sin City, but more gritty.
CYOA was 8mm in your list? I had totally forgotten about that movie until the other day.

Anyone recommend any other Luc Besson?
Watched Leon today which I lovedIt just seems like he's got a pretty eclectic range of films, not to mention that if you judge by ratings and reviews he's only really had a few good ones. Find it strange that he's behind the 'Arthur and the Minimoys' thing after watching Leon
His production company and himself are credited with a crop of recent films. District 13, Taken, Columbiana, Transporter, 22 Bullets and From Paris With Love. I just looked at IMDB, apparently he is working on a Taken sequel and Transporter is getting a TV series (eek!). Speaking of TV Series he also get mentioned in the credits for the original Nikita series (which I actually never liked.) But not in the current Nikita series. Which does seem odd to me.
@CYOA - you should do all of John Travolta's movies at some point.

Lulz. On a separate note I personally think Aliens is better than Alien
I agree but then to compare Scott to Cameron is a little unfair.
Speaking of naughty policemen, has anyone seen Rampart yet?
Have been looking forward to seeing it for quite a while......
No, but I'm looking to go see it over the weekend too!
what was all the hype about regarding the girl with the dragon tattoo?
felt like a slightly more expensive TV movie. And the story was missing lots
of elements from the swedish version which made it really boring.
Can't believe they spent 100mio on that.I disagree with you, I think the money was well spent and it shows in the production. It made some crazy money being the Boxing day movie release both stateside and here. The to top it off it is going to kill it on DVD and Blu-ray - it will be like Gladiator everyone will have a copy.
I read the books and think they did a better job of re-creating the feel of the book than the swedish version. But perhaps that comment is unfair since the budget difference and the people involved.
Also recently watched 30 Minutes Or Less - pretty good, funnier than I thought it would be.
Just okay, nothing amazing. I thought Aziz Ansari was the star of that. Both McBride and Eisenberg were good, just not amazing.
Contagion was also good, very thought provoking with more excellent audio from Cliff Martinez.
Yes, and yes - but I didn't go to a chinese restaurant for a month after watching it!
I saw 'Safe House' this evening, if you are a Denzel fan don't miss this one. I'm usually quite critical of Ryan Reynolds but he was actually pretty good in this.

Mint is built on Ubuntu which is built on Debian.
So everything you're used to still works great, and you can still follow Ubuntu guides for doing stuff ("sudo apt-get" still works, and everything is where you expect it to be).
However, Mint focuses not on Unity as a desktop manager, but on having Gnome 2 & 3 work side by side so you get the best of both worlds. In comparison to Ubuntu and Unity I've found Mint to be exceptionally nice and very productive to use.
Mint also has a rolling release update system, so you're never more than 15 minutes behind the current stable branch. Which in turn means that you can just forget about those scary updates every 6 months or a year... you're already up to date.
The details are all here: http://linuxmint.com/
Mint is good, if you are a Ubuntu fan you will find it technically no different as David said. Mint 13 will have a new desktop which is based on Gnome 3, but looks like 2. Personally I have been using xubuntu for years and generally found XFCE to be better for me. I starting hating Nautalus and Evolution way before it was cool to hate on them! If you are a Ubuntu user and you can't stand Unity - do a 'apt-get install xubuntu-desktop' and give XFCE a try before you jump to Mint.
Coming back to the Motorola Altrix 3 and its Ubuntu support - really I don't see this as a major thing. The Altrix 2 was using Splashtop Linux on a second bank of flash. So technically all they are doing is increasing that storage area and sticking Ubuntu on it. I would argue still that Ubuntu is still too big in foot print terms to use like this.

The hard drive can be used for installing your games on from the discs. (You still have to have the disc in the player!) It is faster for some games that are optimised to run off the hard disk. As for the 3D Blu-ray as I understand it all current PS3s will be getting a software update that will enable the 3D Blu-ray functionality. In fact it might have already happened.
More disc space is better, but there is an obvious price difference it comes down to you really which model you go for.

Actually I did know that, apparently he is a big Superman fan. I think he might have bought an issue 1 at auction.
I was wrong he sold an issue 1 for $2.1m. No wonder he makes shite movies he can probably live off his comic collection.
How can the Cage version of Bad Lieutenant even be on your list when the original Harvey Keitel craps all over it from a great height? What is wrong with you kids? :P
I have erased the Cage Bad Lieutenant from my mind. He was more like a Bad Private. When I saw the trailer I thought it was a re-make, but as it turns out it was a sequel of sorts.
Am watching The Beat That My Heart Skipped - magnifique!
I need to watch that it has Mélanie Laurent in it!

'Justice' should be hitting dvd soon. Was actually quite good, you might put it in your PWMC category.
I burst out laughing watching this, the moment he spoke in that 'accent'.
But give him credit, he does use both of his facial expressions in this film.I only watched that film for Ms Cruz - at least her accent was better. For me The Rock and Face/Off are probably the best ones. I do actually want to go and see the new Ghost Rider - the supporting cast is quite impressive. Plus for the film to get made after how bad the first one was means it has to be better, right?
I'm just glad he didn't do a Superman movie.

Watched Fight Club for the first time yesterday, I know awful I've never seen it.
Fucking brilliant film although my girlfriend ruined it for me by seeing if I could guess the twist... which I did
If you haven't, see Edward Norton in American History X he's brilliant+1 to both of those!
Check out '25th Hour' which also has Norton in it, about a man facing his last day before starting a prison sentence. Directed by Spike Lee.
Just watched Water For Elephants.
Was hard to watch some scenes but I found it very engaging.
('it' being RPatz of course.)It is actually pretty good. Plus it gives me a chance to post my favourite celeb gag.

Apart from the fact you can't type properly on it as It's so small! (I can't anyway)
A valid point which is why in portrait mode the keyboard reverts to the old style 'SMS' keyboard.Which is great for single hand operation. But then if you rotate it into landscape mode it switches to a full keyboard.

Watched quite a few movies over the weekend.
The Artist - Fantastic, now I get what everyone was talking about.
The Muppets - if you are childhood fan of the Muppets then you have to see this. I think the younguns are not going to get this. I'm sure they will like it, but I can't see them running out and getting Kermit toys and t-shirts. But us 'oldies' (read as 30-somethings) will love it!
A Dangerous Method - Very good! I didn't realise what/who the film was about before hand. Well acted all round even Keira did a good job, the russian accent was maybe a little overdone, but worked. Fassbender is really showing his range. Moretnson was good, but it really was Fassbender's film. Though Cassell did steal all his scenes playing Otto Gross.
Watching 'A Dangerous Method' spurred me to unwrap the 'Eastern Promises' dvd I picked up over a year ago in a 4-for-£20 deal in HMV, but never got around to watching. Another great film, had not realised it was filmed in London. Recognised many of the locations, plus Naomi Watts pulls off an amazing English/London accent.

I agree with this, don't like how all the phones are huge and you can't fit them comfortably in a pocket any more. Happy with the size of my desire to be honest but all the upgrades seem to be huge screens.
That is why I love the Xperia Ray so much its smaller than Desire and iPhone but packs all the functionality. Plus the camera is superior to the iPhone4.
just made this transformer sleeve, for mashton

Murts those cases are awesome! Can you do me a case for my Xperia Ray?

Speaking of Total Recall - I watched the original Conan The Barbarian last night. The theme tune is basically the same as Total Recall, clearly Total Recall copied. But perhaps same composer or something.
The remake has quite an impressive cast. Total Recall 2012
-
Watch the original with Charlton Heston - it's aged for sure, but it has something
Planet of the Apes is a classic for sure, and remains better than the remake. There is talk of remaking this again, of the back of 'Rise' being so successful.
The Woman n Black - fucking minty!
proper old school horror.
thoroughly enjoyed it.There seems to be a batch of horror films coming out at the moment. The ones I'm thinking off all have an 'Exorcism' theme.
I get what you mean, I think I watched it at the right time. Pre-oscars and I didn't know much about it before, in fact I was under the impression only the first twenty minutes was silent. So I was waiting for them all to magically start speaking. By the end I was glad they didn't speak.
Me too. Grant has to do something, hookers don't pay for themselves.
So I went and saw 'The Hunger Games' last night, actually I was a little disappointed after it was hyped so much. By that I mean it was good, just that I was expecting more. I haven't read the book so I can't say how accurate it is. It is clear where the next one in the series is going, it does have that 'Twilight-teeny' feel to it. It took me a while to recognise Elizabeth Banks in that outfit.
Yeah I suspect there are going to be a few of those posts. For a 12A rated film though it should be obvious it ain't no 'Battle Royale' clone.
