As cool as a big power mini might be, I'd still have a nicely built A-series on carbs or an hybrid 16v-A series.Mini.
i think if the conversions are done well then they can be great, and often they're cheaper than having an a-series worked on.
if i ever get the chance i'd like to do a 1.8 vvc k-series conversion - cheap as fuck (as far as conversions go), 160 stock, can use a slightly modified metro subframe while still keeping it in the rover family.. easier said than done though i guess.

oh right, that is handy then.
hope make a hub which i think is designed for a symmetrical dish, as you can expect it's fairly expensive though. http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/135mm_free_hubs/hope_pro_2_evo_trials_ss/c148p11557.html -

Fuuuuuuuuuck the 111mm bb is too short to fit the cranks due to the fact that the chain stays have not dent in them to allow for the spider....grr
Very helpful guy at bikeshop lewisham suggests using a 116bb - any experience of this ?
you could also take the bike to a framebuilder who should be able to put the dent into the chainstay
