For a team supposedly focused on ‘marginal gains’ it remains a mystery why they ride this frame. Are pinnarello really paying them so much more cash than they could get from another bike manufacturer with a lighter and more aero frame?
Various people have talked about targeting the Olympics. For those doing that and the tour, when are they likely to pull out of the tour? First rest day? The second?
If bennet is out, how can they not take cav? Some might complain about the quality of the field he beat in Turkey, but there can be no such complaints here. The only place you are likely to see a stronger field of sprinters is in the tour itself.

Because he was a huge asset to the team at last years Giro and by all accounts he was expected to ride the tour this summer. Doesn’t strike me as a rider one would fire. But who knows, maybe he had a blazing row with management and they decided he was too difficult to make his skill worthwhile.
I wonder what this tells us about the efficiency of race radios. Did the team car deliberately withhold this info from him, did the radio stop working, did the team car not realise he was at the front of the race? Many questions.
Just smashing it in the big ring. Nuts.
