As tbc said, it’s a roof terrace without planning permission. I was told haringey council are now very reluctant to grant planning permission for roof terraces as they cause problems with people being overlooked. But if 10 years passes without a formal objection from the council you can get it made legal retrospectively.
The fact that they describe it as having a view of ally pally but don’t actually show that in the photos makes me thing the view is pretty poor/small.
Also middle lane is quite a busy street. Pre COVID the council were planning to close it to most vehicle traffic, but this was met by lots of protest as in the trial stage traffic was diverted down other narrower residential streets. Suspect that plan has now died, but if it were to come back to life then presumably property on middle lane would become more desirable.

That would be pretty impressive. Especially since their leader crashed out right near the start so they were a man short throughout almost the whole of the race.
Q - is it a foregone conclusion that they will win the team classification? They are 3 mins down at the moment. Are Ganna and Dennis going to put so much time into everyone else in the tt to make up for that?

For people who are doing office jobs from their study/living room/bedroom for the foreseeable future, how viable would it be to move to the Alps in December and stay until April, while at the same time still working from "home"? Could ski first lift most days and still log on to the laptop by 9-30am London time...
Presumably the big challenge would be making sure the broadband is up to scratch and that if it goes wrong you have the language skills to ring up the provider and get it fixed quickly.

The messed up situation means the only sensible thing for you to do is either walk away or drive an extremely hard bargain such that if you buy it and then get clobbered with a mega repair bill (or you want to sell it and find it challenging) you don’t end up out of pocket.
This whole mess needs to be fixed by boris and co. I wouldn’t hold my breath on swift action though. Grenfell was 3 years ago.

This explains part of it. Lots of cashed up people.
The IFS said it took an income of about £100,000 to be considered among the top 1% of high earners in Wales, the north-east and Northern Ireland. However, in London it was more than £300,000 a year.
In a sign of the extreme levels of wealth in the capital, it said a 50-year-old man in London with an income of £160,000 would earn enough to be in the top 1% for the rest of the country, but would not even be in the top 5% of men living in London.

Yes, I moved from bt to sky recently. Switching from a 3-4yr old bt box to the current sky one definitely improved things. I hesitated before making the switch because apparently sky sets its network up differently from most other broadband suppliers, so if you want to use your own modem it is not straightforward. But as it happens the standard sky box works well (in my victorian brick wall flat).

Even if he traveled in the team bus, rather than cramped up in the passenger seat of the team car, it does seem like quite a lot of hours of travelling to do right after a big effort at the end of a week long race.
Maybe they broke the journey up and did part last night and part this morning, but even so, still a good amount of time travelling.
Edit - looks like it is the autoroute almost the whole way. Perhaps 3 and a half hours. If done in two parts by team bus, perhaps not too damaging. Sometimes transfers between stages in the tour are over an hour (I presume?)
