hehe.
mind that i was merely pointing out that the evolution minis are just the perfect size for fitting those bollards and a frame, on the other hand the bollard's ring on top is just wide enough.
so you don't really need to carry a bigger (heavier) lock in general, because these bollards are like everywhere.for long term parking / over night people here always take their bikes inside their / their friend's room / work / whatever.
still, i think over here, hardly as much bikes as in london are beeing stolen, they are beeing trashed (and cannibalised) very quickly though. -

that makes my knees hurt just thinking about it. that is 85 gi (700x23).
well, berlin is kinda flat.
question though - can one be used to a certain gear ratio (free), then begin riding fixed and use the same, or is that basically impossible (or stupid)?
(no, i never rode a fixed bike in my life yet).*edit: so i found the popcorn-thread, which lead me to various flaming threads, where i learned that it would not be impossible, but hard to skid and hard on one's knees. and that 18 teeth in the back are considered appropriate..

When I was his age, one of the main reasons I would cycle everywhere was so that I didn't have to walk home because it was walking home that made me feel unsafe (mugged once when walking home, hassled countless times). Unless you're riding really slowly, I think you're far less likely to get robbed than walking / on a bus. (...)
agreed. (coming from berlin).
appear fit; drive safe, but fast. -
