Well first of all it makes my head hurt if people go on smart assed rants about first world problems like that, as if there's nothing else to worry about.
And having worked in catering myself I can tell you it's just not feasible to cater to every snowflake's needs, of course most eateries will go for common denominators*, they kinda have to.
Giving people a cheese option is fair enough, but c'mon it's really not hard to do tasty vegan buns, they just need to buy the right ones, count yourself lucky they're not gluten free as well, haha.

If you shine a UV light at a ripe banana, it'll show up the browness in a violet colour. If you shine it at a bruised banana, it won't look any different. The reason for this is that there are some animals that have UV on their visible spectrum, and this allows them to identify which bananas are ripe to eat.
..you did just make that up, right?

Ha, I watched / listened to this comparison video of the ML and SH
a lot of times - got to admit it's really hard to tell them apart for me....probably the ML has a bit more "punch" and a bit crisper highs, while the SH is a tad more "elegant" in the upper mids ð§
In the end I went for the ML, as I thought it fits my music better, also it's a bit cheaper, a lot of people are recommending it, and also the red fits the led's of my MK7 ð
-
I had never listened to the VM500 series and VM95 series side by side so can't say which sounds better (the former look a bit less cheap though : ).
That being said I was debating for a long time which first "proper" cartridge to get, and back then everybody and their mother recommended the AT-VM95ML, saying it was superb value for money and sounded amazing (if you take care to align it properly).
In the end I got a Concorde R20 (a Ortofon Concorde body with a pre-installed OM20 stylus) instead, was pretty happy with it, but eventually bought the 95ML a few weeks ago.
In a nutshell: it's cheaper, and it sounds better.
Around your budget as well - https://www.thakker.eu/en/cartridges/audio-technica-at-vm95ml-moving-magnet-cartridge/a-9540/Of course it all depends on the rest of your system, what kinda sound signature you like, what kind of music you actually listen to etc. - to me it's a very good allrounder I must say, would definitely recommend.

Lookin' good ð
Yea, the watering-from-below is what I've had the most success with as well.
It motivates the roots to go down, "seek the water", and keeping the top of the soil dry makes it less attractive for fungus gnats etc. to put their eggs there (though they still can reach the moist soil at the bottom : )Mine still have a long way to go, wish I had started earlier this year ð

Anyone got a recommendation for a light comedy series show?
Well I guess you're following this thread for a while so might be familiar / have watched those already, but just in case you haven't:
- Fleabag
- Detectorists (S01 especially)
- Meet the Richardsons (S01 especially)
- State of the Union (S01 especially)
..all of those should match your criteria ð

Attempted to overwinter them, seems to have worked as small leaves starting to form but looks like it's got a bug infestation, any thoughts?
Definitely looks like some kind of plant louse..
..you need to get rid of them (soon) if you want the plant to survive - what worked well for me was showering off the plant and brushing the little fuckers off with an old toothbrush (you'll have to do this multiple times).
As @edmundo said ladybugs (or other useful animals) would solve the problem as well, but are hard to find this time of year..Oh, and picked up these seeds last week, will try in a few weeks when the frost has gone as don't have any propagators
You should start rather soon ð
Remember you can use very basic stuff as a "propagator" - just need something that keeps the humidity, that lets light in, and put that in a warm spot -
I had much success with just two sips of water in little plastic trays (former packaging of cheese from the supermarket, filled with a few layers of kitchen roll (to keep the water), topped with a layer of coffee-filter-paper (so the seeds don't grow into the kitchen roll) - putting all this near a radiator or another spot that's well over 20°C all the time (hint: your internet router) and Bob's your uncle ð -

@niclas these are looking really healthy ð
Love chili plants at this stage, where they're developing their first true leaves..
I'm not even there yet this year (as I just started germinating the seeds like 10 days ago) but am encouraging them to grow every day ð -
If I had the time I'd build some sort of "scanning station" like the one you have, and re-"scan" some of the negatives I have with the iPhone, to see how they compare to the original scans (done with a Quato / Plustek dedicated 35mm scanner, years ago).
Fun fact: I did use this scanner with an old Windos XP laptop back in the day, onto which I istalled Windows 10 at some point - only to realize a few weeks later that there's no way on earth I'll get drivers for that scanner that work with Win10 ðĪŠ

..haha, great pic! ð
