Very very almost got mugged in Burgess Park on the way home this evening about 7:45pm. Sussed what was about to happen at the last minute and purposefully hit the bigger of the two lads on my Omnium. the other one stabbed my rear tyre with, from the looks of the hole in the side of my marathon plus, a 4cm wide blade. I managed to outsprint the lad with the knife with the rear puncture and the mudguard hanging off as there was a slight decline at that point in the park but it was really really close.
Fucking shaken and need a new tyre/tube/set of mudguards but unharmed. Pls be careful in the parks at night folks. That kid swung the knife inches from my right leg and fuck knows what would have happened if he had caught me up when I was accelerating away.

Another. Somebody already got stabbed 3 times.
Each to their own i guess dude. I support the team and hate the owners as I have since the days of Freddie Shepherd. Although granted it is on a whole different level now.
I do have a big issue with the guardian et al's coverage of the Newcastle/City/PSG takeovers as solely motivated sports washing to improve the image of nations quite clearly abusing their citizens/migrant worker's human rights.
This is also greenwashing. These are some of the biggest oil producing nations in the world. As a cyclist and an environmentalist the fact that these countries are able to get away with literally zero scrutiny of the fact that they are using their football investments to distract everyone from where the money is coming from and what that is doing to our planet is disgraceful. Sport journos have been lazy in their condemnation of the environmental toll these countries are responsible for.
edit: not good english, its late, you get the idea

Reports coming through that Shearer has put up £10million of his own money to get the Kane transfer over the line.
In all seriousness though, it is savage that the rhetoric all over the news is that the clubs have reached an agreement and that it is now 'up to Kane if he wants to stay or not'. Seems like a really unnecessary guilt trip to try and shift the blame on to the player. I'm sure if Spurs werent such a basket case, he would be happy to stay.

@sohi yeah completely terrifying. I don't think i have ever been so scared like!
@MCamb yeah just take it easy mate. I normally turn my front light off so it doesn't illuminate the fact that I am on an abnormal bike, but not today for some reason.
I havent spoken to the police yet. I couldnt say anything about the kids other than they were white and 17/18 or something. I guess I have a fairly tight time window of about quarter of an hour. They must have got in the park from somewhere.
