I've been after a clincher HED wheel for a while and fronts seem to be really thin on the ground recently.

I have been offered a Clincher HED rear wheel but it has a shimano 8/9/10 speed.

I've read that you can get a conversion for them and a surly fixxer works or can I buy a another axle straight from HED uk and just take free hub body off and swap the internals.

Only thing with the surly is that you can't get a 100mm front axle on it for the front, 120mm the minimum length

Dont wanna go and buy the rear and then waste money on it if its not possible.

New dock assembly has been purchased for £4, fingers crossed the surgery goes to plan. The disassembly instructions I've seen don't look too bad so I'm sure it'll be fine.
