I'm in the process of building my bombproof wheels (Novatec hubs, 36 x 2mm SS spokes, mavic A119 rims)
What wide tires do people like for polo/freestyle/pub/heavy duty/commuting ?
I've noticed
Spacialised armadillo nimbusShwalbe
Marathon
KojakContinental
City ride
City ContactHalo
Twinrail multi city 38cNeeds to be fast, wear resistant (I can't resist a skid or three), cheap.

Boy or girl?
Cedy, got the rim or not yet?
Oh yeah sorry, I did! I thought I told you
I also bought everything else, hubs, 2nd rim, 80 straight gauge spokes, even rim tape
It's costing me quite a lot compared to buying an off the shelf wheelset but hey, they will be unique.
Thanks for your help Kris! -

Right, I'm calculating spoke lengths, a book I have on wheel building says: for a standard hub, devide the number of spokes by nine, the number gives you number of crosses.
So for a 36 spoke wheel, I should be able to do a 4 cross pattern.
Any thoughts on this? do people not bother and only do 3 cross on 36 wheels? -

I'm building new wheels with some touring mavic a119 and cheap novatec hubs (fixed/fixed) 36h. They're gonna go on my heavy create frame and make a similar setup with wider tires.
good for polo/short urban escapades/flat off-road trails/messing around.
Good concept IMO.
I like the bar spin-able disks on that white bike, very neat. -
