I am a little weary of writing this, but here goes, I have decided to sell my Carlton, the bike is absolutely perfect, everything runs beautifully and I am regretfully selling it to fund plane tickets to visit my sister whilst she is living abroad.
deep breath...

Un-badged Carlton Flyer Track, (identifyed as a carlton due to the signature wrapover seatstay) Full 531 frame and fork with Campagnolo track and fork ends. 53cm seattube, 56 cm TT
Campagnolo Record Pista Front hub and on-one double fixed Sealed cartridge Rear Hub, both laced 36h to silver Rigida dp18 rims, (built by one of the UK's top wheel builders Russell Cashmore) wrapped in continental gatorskin 23c's.
Campagnolo Record Pista fluted Cranks with lightly used 49T ring and original camopagnolo BB with brand new bearings.
Selle italia turbo saddle
Currently running a 72 GI with a 49-18 ratio. The bike has covered less than 100miles and as a result everything is in fantastic condition no dents, dings scratches or tarnishing. As you can see the frame produces lovely Tight Clearances and gives the bike a lovely lively feel, the fork is drilled for a brake and brake and lever are included.
As you can tell I love this bike to bits, I took my time to build it and have fortunately only ridden it in dry weather, I am asking for £500 collected from either Henley in Arden, Birmingham, Stratford upon avon or I can potentially arrange a time when I can be down for a zone 5 pick up.
buyer has their option of risers, black classic taped bullorns or I could find some Brand new Drops. If you have any Questions or would like some more photographs please drop me a PM or I can give you a number if preferred.
thanks for looking everyone

I had a real problem with firefox insecurity yesterday, chrome blocks sites that potentially host malware or is hosting data that is hosted on a malware infected site, I used firefox for two minutes on stumbleupon and managed to get the desktop security 2010 virus, took me two hours to get rid of, grrr

I picked up this frame last year at a bike Jumble.
It has "John Atkins" written on it. It turns out John Atkins was Britains best ever Cyclocross Rider. Info here
The period of the frame seems to be right for the frame to be one of his, but it could just be a frame sold through his bike shop.
Snipped
It seems to be for 27" wheels, but the geometry is surprisingly tight & racey. It is 531 and the large parts where paint has flaked away have almost no rust. It has nice thick cast lugs too. If the lengths of the top tubes and seat tubes where reversed this would workout my perfect size. If I build it up I would need to use risers or an upwardly pointed stem. I do not want to do the former and dont have the latter. So this will probably not fit well if/when I build it up.
I am not planning to repaint this, I might clear coat over the the flakey bits though and just leave it with its aged look. Ill put centre pull brakes on it and some new 27" wheels which I have begun building. I have am unsure whether to have a fixed wheel or coaster brake however. I dont mind multiple types of braking as this will be a good winter bike.
I have ordered some panaracer pasela's for it too.
coaster brake FTW, should be a nice build though
