The hooded Zoa jacket is more off than on the bike unless it's hovering around 2/3 degrees and/or it's some other variation of pretty damn cold and you're not looking to work hard on the bike. It's got an incredibly comfortable cut that works on the bike but it's very, very warm. I had the Rapha Brevet Insulated Windblock Jersey and their Winter Windjacket (and PTJ and fuck knows what else) and the Zoa is on another level of warmth. The only person I've seen wear it in a group ride was when the weather was 1 C and it was 90% humidity. They might have been the only warm person on the ride. Anyway if you check the pictures everyone wearing it is on a moutain in wales or around a fire in some damp shack at night and while that's romantic the pics are telling you the type of activity where it makes sense to wear it.

Just a thought, as it's a DIY there is no pressure to start anywhere, why don't you jump on a train 45 mins / hour from your most convenient station and start somewhere nice? Better access to different lanes (although I can't speak to the cleanliness). Unless you're really time poor an extra 45 mins or so removes that grim M25 drag out and back which is usually the last thing I want at the start and end of 200km.

Maj is wild and crazy gal who has built up about 25 bikes in this thread. 14 of those were a Surly, a custom thing called the Homer, then some other wild stuff happened which led to a custom steel Hulsroy which had wildly dramatic journey to and from Bespoked. It's very good.
At the moment I think everything is home safe but I think we're having some tyre trouble.

Hey thanks for coming out everyone! Very fun day out with only two minor routing fuckups (which is low for me). Loved it - bit of rain, lots of leaves and colour change and plenty of atmosphere at the top of the ridge. As always I forgot how bumpy that area is so I got my money's worth. Really nice group and when it came to it some legit tight riding on the A21. I was under some time pressure so had to make a quick exit when we finally got to the cafe and I was a bit stressin'. Anyway an excellent fixie day because of YOU

I've never managed to do that! I am absolutely up for it. Come March post-Harder Day in T'Peaks I'll get something in for June
