I just rewrote it and got a brief glimpse of something about it having to be moderated before it appeared! WTF??? I've been through the Nursery bollocks TWICE because my first 5 posts were wiped in the server crash. And I didn't get the memo saying that when you graduate the Nursery you have to go to arsewipe Primary School where you can start threads but they have to be modded.

How do people do this? I want something multi-coloured, high res, pukka, which won't fade. It'll have lacquer over it. The paint shop I'm going to (Dave at Colour-Tech) says he can either do single colour laser cut stickers, or paint things by hand. He suggests www.hlloydcycles.com for fancy custom stuff. Somebody else suggested www.zazzle.co.uk - upload an image and they put it on a sticker for you. Somebody else said I can print stickers or waterslide decals on my own inkjet/laser printer if I buy special paper.

That Crisp Titanium thing isn't what I thought it was. The thing I was drooling over at the Cycle Show was the Sabbath Time Piece. (Try to ignore the wheel graphics.) Hard to photograph - you don't see all the stealth fighterish angles and surfaces until you have a close look from every angle. The boss of Sabbath that he could get absolutely any design custom made because he's got the best ti welders in China. So I said I wanted a touring frame in the style of the Time Piece, which little doors in the frame so I could use it for storage. He said 'fine'. I didn't tell him I was broke.

The Kalavinka's got potential but doesn't deserve to be in this thread until somebody fits the mudguards properly, relocates the rear light so it doesn't block the piffling amount of visible seat pin and fits some bars with less reach so the brake levers aren't all cock-eyed. And swaps the lame bar tape for something classy.
Even then it wouldn't really be pornworthy. But it would be less of an embarrassment to the good name of the framebuilder.

That Vivalo is a disgrace - so much wrongness. Shimano brifters are irredeemably ugly - so huge they really belong on a diesel engine. Thomson layback seat posts always look wrong, the stem angle is horrid, as is the untrimmed steerer, the chainset is a mismatch. And anatomic bars never do anything for a bike.

Here's my project. (It's a touring bike, please ignore the derailleur hanger.) Lots of filing and shaping to do yet - the joint in the foreground is the only one that's been smoothed. Getting a bit carried away and thinking about rounding off all the edges - the shoulders on the lugs, the seat post clamp, the fork crown, everything. I like the idea of giving it a liquid look, as if the whole thing is a one piece organism. And having unmodified off the shelf lugs from Ceeway on a bike you've built yourself seems like a missed opportunity. (I built it on Dave Yates' course.)
Am also not sure whether to get any components painted. I was going for an old school look - just paint the frame pearl white and have polished components. But maybe that's boring. Why not an electric blue frame with matching seat post and stem? I dunno. Could also paint the gear levers, the chainring (a big aero Rotor Cranks thing), the headset...where does it end? I even caught myself lusting after chrome bar tape on this shouty red Walker. http://www.londonfgss.com/thread29-386.html#post894889
I suppose the only things I can't paint are the white saddle with world champion stripes. And the white brake hoods. And the grey cables. And I wouldn't paint the wheels. Got to decide asap though - I'm going travelling on it in 6 weeks.

Oh dear, looks as if this thread will be me talking to myself. So,um...the stickers at zazzle look good but they're 4 mm thick. I wonder if they'll look professional when the bike's lacquered? Or will they just look like rubbish stickers?
