yes, indeed, offered frames are basic track frames produced using mentioned 30XMA steel. it is also true that soviet mass-produced touring and road frames often used really cheap steel pipes for tubing, however "record" model is far from being mass production frame.

got my hands on two track framesets of KhVZ Record, soviet era, produced 1986, track geometry, horizontal dropouts, 58 cm ctt, complete with specific headset and track (no drillings) fork
one's exactly the same as pictured in this thread http://www.londonfgss.com/thread33978.html the other - just a different color.
condition is pretty fair aesthetically (rust present), and very good mechanically - english thread BB, renewed headset
located in Ukraine
anyway, can't sell these on ebay (paypal doesn't work in Ukraine to accept funds), so looking to trade these for parts - namely track cranksets and/or track hubsets. i believe two framesets will be worth GBP250-300 including shipping to UK (worth GBP100 alone), so it's possible to calculate cost of parts to trade

a little clarification: i'm from Ukraine, and here getting hands on italian track frame is very close to impossible. so by "going all-italian" i meant evrything but the frame

so far i've managed to get my hands on campy record hubs, right campy strada crank arm (open to offers of left fluted 172.5 campy crank arm in PM) and San Marco rolls saddle. currently bidding on campy seatpost and waiting for cinelli stem/bar combo to arrive...
